i saw it in theatres during the one day run. it was ass. the dude behind me said " i waited 15 years for this bullshyt"I know it was a one day theatrical run and I missed it figuring it’d be available for streaming soon after. What the fukk are they thinking not promoting and releasing it for Halloween

Movie was a huge let down.
I'd rank this as either the worst or 2nd worst between the 7th film and this film. The 7th was terrible but at least it tied up some loose ends and brought bought back the doctor from the first.
This one just feels like a soulless reboot.
It's just too glossy and nice looking.
Saw 1-6 through maintained that dirty aesthetic in the cinematography that suited the film's. It's supposed to look grimey.
This film goes for a more "big budget" look. But all it does is lose the feel of the franchise and makes it even more obvious you're watching a reboot.
It's like if somebody went in and cleaned up and remastered the early wu tang albums. The appeal is the low fi gritty sound. By cleaning it up you're missing the point.
It tries to inject some humour but it falls completely flat.
However the biggest failing is the traps. They just aren't memorable. None would go in my top 5 of the series. The final one was the best but it's just so stylized looking and the use of cg takes away from the effect. Gore wise this is the tamest film in the series I'd say.
The "twist" was just whatever,I just didn't care to be honest.
