The haunting of the Queen Mary (2023)

Wish.com Shining on a cruise ship
head scratcher of a plot,
mot entertained at all

founders day ( 2024)

its actually an entertaining low budget slasher & meta political slasher spliced together
decent twist as well

& back on my 80's kick
the hand (1981)

Classic slow descent into madness flick with excellent acting.

Michael Caine stars
Oliver Stone directed
Stan winston on th FX

That Queen Mary flick the worst I've seen in two years.

I watched Abigail recently and really enjoyed it it aucks that most twist was given out before hand but I don't know how they could have marketed the movie. Radio Silence really understand the Comedy Horror sub genre and I'll be there for anything else they release.

Updated rankings for the year are:

Abigail or Late Night with the Devil(I had a problem with both movies endings but the first 2/3 of the movies are a fun ride)
Immaculate
Night Shift
Double Blind
Lisa Frankenstein
Night Swim

I guess I'm super late to this news but just finding out Wes Craven wrote, appeared and directed a full-blown porn movie

I finally watched A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night

It's a rare case of the plot doing almost nothing for me, but the cinematography absolutely BODYING to the point it didn't matter. It felt like a "been there, done that" kind of story for a bunch of reasons, but every scene is striking. It's shot and cut beautifully, with a score that matches the visuals. I could see watching this in one of my old film classes in college. Anyway, I can't give it too much props when the story was bland. But it's still a solid 6.5 for me, though I may have to revisit it in the future to see how it feels on a rewatch.

This shyt right here is ART
Out of context, it looks like a simple romantic scene shot really well. In the context of the movie, it's actually one of the most tense moments of the film IMO.

Such a vibe. A slow burn that can be considered style over substance, but it’s not everyday we see a horror romance shot like a spaghetti western and it definitely scratched that Sergio Leone itch at times. Some of the best needle-drops I’ve heard in a movie too. Picking a good track is easy, but weaving them into the story in a way that effectively complements the themes is the challenging part and I thought this film did that really well. I was wondering why one of the lead actresses in ‘The Rental’ looked so familiar and now it’s coming back to me.

While I’m not in a huge rush to rave about it, I thought ‘The Coffee Table’ was solid overall.

Less of an in your face, spook-filled horror, and more on the psychological side. Explores an unspeakable, taboo scenario that you hope stays locked up in the back of your mind pending deletion. The nightmare that you’re hoping is in fact a nightmare and one you can shake yourself awake from. El McIntyre and his wife caught a diabolical case here. :francis:

Felt like a 90 minute extension of what happens to Alex Wolff’s character after that infamous driving scene in ‘Hereditary’, so if you’re down and able to handle the dread of a fukked situation like that then you may find this enjoyable. Didn’t find it nearly as gut-wrenching or on my mind as much afterwards like with Speak No Evil, but it did manage to have me invested enough to see it through til the breaking point.
