What is the greatest theater experience any of you have had with a horror movie? I firmly believe that horror movies are best enjoyed in a group, like going through a haunted house, and a lot of times that experience can make or break it. The hands down best theater experience for me was Paranormal Activity. The theater was packed, it was a huge auditorium at theater in Northern VA, my ex and I had dope seats and it was a good time. During the night scenes of the movie, the theater manager or whomever would turn the air condition on then turn it back off for the day scenes which was perfect and whoever decided to do that needs a raise. It was incredible

"The Mist", solely because the entire audience went in thinking it was some jokey type date night horror movie. If you remember it dropped right in the middle of all those goofy ass remakes/PG-13 horror movies so it caught people off guard.

I knew what time it was, I had read the original story plus had seen every review mention the incredibly "downer" ending.

Anyway, the theater was pretty packed and towards the middle of the movie you could tell dudes were :lupe: like "damn, maybe I picked the wrong movie". After they sacrificed ol boy in the super market you could feel the mood of the theater change. Towards the end you could've heard a pin drop the tension was so think.

Later, after the movie was over there was maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad girls in the lobby like :sadbron::damn:"why'd you take me to see this depressing shyt?!" and dudes was like :whoa::snoop: knowing they wasn't getting laid that night.

It's weird breh, watching Paranormal Activity was what stopped me seeing horrors in the cinemas. I was hyped for it going in, but watching it, whenever a door banged or a plate dropped everyone would shriek and then start laughing at each other for it. Totally took me out of the film. That air con trick is pretty tasty tho

Oh it was very effective breh. And I know people laugh like that because if something REALLY scares you, you react with that laugh to remind yourself "it's only a movie" I've done that before.

Insidious was a good one for me. Saw it the 2nd week out with some friends.
The vibe was really good, and had people jumping in there sits.
People still talked, but it was in more in humor, like 'did you see that shyt!' haha

Horror just doesnt do it for me anymore even though i used to be an avid fan. The devils angles are getting redundant but horror films act as great cautionary tales

I think the R.L stine episodies they currently have on netflix are scarier then a lot of films out today. There was an episode where a little girl got a doll and the mother began to slowly love the doll more then the daughter and the daughter began to turn into a doll and the doll began to turn into the daughter.

There was another episode about an obese child who wanted ice cream so bad he broke into a demonic ice cream truck only to be trapped in there, Forever!

i was listening to nothing but kate bush and hounds of love came on..what a tune and samples a piece of dialogue from one of my fav horror flicks, night of the demon!!

:obama: Great movie, that scene with Karswell in the train carriage at the end was masterful. It's tough to put people onto it tho because after seeing the FX on the monster at the start most people go straight to :beli: mode. The director never wanted any of those scenes in the first place but the studio forced him because they wanted something flashy for the posters.

If you're interested it's based on a short story "Casting The Runes" written by this old english ghost story writer MR James, all his stuff is crack.
