watched this earlier
its basically a Norwegian Halloween set at Christmas with Michael Myers in a Santa outfit.
no MPAA, so there are no cutaway kills.
and its actually a good horror flick.

I watched the Devil's Hour and stuck with it because it had some horror elements...but it feels like a movie script that they stretched out. It's unfortunate because it had a pretty cool concept, but it felt too dragged out for me to suggest to anyone. And it never embraced the horror enough to count either.

Thanks for the tag🙏🏾, will watch after my meeting. , Every since Halloween Ends was a dub- I’ve been in a horror movie depression slump :mjlol: - that wasn’t supposed to happen 😔☹️

I’ve noticed that ever since, I’ve been uninspired by horror movies - it’s like I watch and move on to the next

none of the releases this last part of the year have measured up to my expectations, truth be told. Ended up watching a drama genre movie on Netflix the other day, (went into it cold thinking it was a ghost haunting or murder mystery movie) when in reality it about some lady running around the marshes of North Carolina drawing butterflies, trees, seashells, and the conditions of her life *yawnnnnn, wtf is a crawdad anyway? I thought it was a type of shellfish?? watching a movie trying to tap into emotions and that existentialism stuff, never again.
:scust::hhh:
Ended up watching Hatchet/Victor Crawley again after it for balance - rather see people getting slashed up in the backwoods 🤭

Halloween Ends was a mistake. I had to watch Terrifier 2 again to get that out of my head and even that was kinda just okay.

Wednesday is a lot of fun...it's nothing too crazy, but I enjoyed the sense of humor. Jenna Ortega kinda bodied her role (the dance scene sent me). I feel like it got the approach to a nostalgia property right. It kept the characters true to their original versions, but reimagined their history and the world around them a bit.

Basically, they don't have to be carbon copies of the original to capture the feel of the OG versions. That balance between being unique and recapturing the original feelings is WAAAAAY harder to pull off than people give credit.

its....on my list

i am still trying to watch stuff from 2012 :snoop:

Unless my wife makes me watch it with her , i may holla back about this @ y'all in 2024/2025:russ:

I still got 4 seasons of the blacklist, the last season of Agents of shield and 3 seasons of burn notice to catch up on

I was forced to watch Chucky, and it was surprisingly good

Watched Pearl (8.5/10) not realizing it was a prequel, so then I watched X (7.5/10).

Also recently watched Orphan (9/10) and Orphan First Kill (7/10).

Currently binging Wednesday and it's okay so far.
New contributer to this thread- welcome to the insanity of horror movie watching 🤗.

The original Orphan is in my top 5 along with Sinister. Orphan 2 was okay- one of the few movies that was actually better than I anticipated. The plot twist was A1.

Haven’t seen Pearl- that’s on my weekend list. Heard good things about Wednesday - first ep was decent.
