Man some of these prices are crazy. A S&W 357 revolver selling for more than an AR-15 that shoots 5.56 now. Glad I copped most of my buys in the 2000s and 2010s.

Anybody here got a Taurus revolver? They straight?

I'm tired of looking for deals on various calibers. Cheaper to just have everything in 1 caliber and buy in bulk. so you can use it with all your firearms.
Meaning i'm keeping all my 9mm guns, and selling everything else.
That said my 9 collection is just a few pistols. What are some unique and interesting 9mm guns? ( not practical but fun range toys)
I was thinking about getting one of these

anybody got any other suggestion for unique guns in 9mm caliber?

I got one......delightful weapon.

We leavin batteries in our optics?

I always have because I all my iron/fixed sights are always dialed, always co-witness and whenever I've grabbed one I've never run into any battery issues. My boy was telling me the other day he got his uh-1 replaced by vortex for free (lifetime warranty). Told me it ate the original battery plus 2 new ones he bought, I was like :manny: maybe he got a bad one. It's probably my favorite optic (eotech, Sig, holosun, Bushnell) but that post the other week, plus my boys anecdote maybe think :jbhmm: let me check mine. Sure enough, it's dead. Which is why I don't fukk with/rely on battery powered shyt. Had I fukked around in found myself in a situation I could've been fukked. Now I'm not going to keep the caps off my shyt, and the batteries neatly stacked on a shelf so I can grab my gun, grab a battery, put it in screw the cap on, grab a magazine, etc etc.

This shyt is damn ridiculous. I'm not saying mine has a battery issue, I haven't determined that yet. I'm just saying my battery is dead. And that shyt ain't cool.

I seen uscca and us law shield talk about this.
them black rifles can make you look like a gun nut to a jury.
Something with wood furniture makes you look like a farmer protecting his land.
This homesteader 9mm takes glock mags and looks like something even the most ardent anti gun person's grandpa kept in the house growing up
Henry-Homesteader.png

i was thinking about using this as my primary long gun, but mostly because i'm trying to have everything in the same caliber for cost savings on ammo bulk deals.

Precisely why I kept the wood furniture on my ak47...well one of them. All my other shyts they gonna call me a black extremist gun nut terrorist.

y'all use guns for home defense in 2023? :mjlol:

taurus models are hit or miss, i haven't heard any terrible horror stories about their revolvers but imo you shouldn't get one if you can afford something nicer (like the s&w it cloned)

i hate batteries too but this sounds like such a hassle, taking the half hour or so to change them all every birthday or w/e just seems so more efficient to me. the old ones with life left in them go in non critical applications like my keyfobs. :manny:

i got one in 5.7 and it's no good which is surprising considering the weight class the rest of the mpa catalog punches at. i know it's a lot more money but this is the kinda thing where you really wanna save up for the original, plus you can do all sorts of goofy uppers with that.

"unique and interesting 9mms" is the main criteria for my collection, tell me your tastes in pistols/what you've collected, oh and also how much time have you got lol? some collectors you could look at are:
- lifesizepotato
- bac1023
- SxS
- hippo939
- MDpolo
- AxArms
- forgotten weapons if you're into older stuff

Avoid if possible. Their automatics have come a long way and I've run plenty of rounds through a few different models and they were all decent performers but I've had 3 Taurus revolvers. An 82, an 85, and a judge.

First off, I always thought the judge was a gimmick gun, (unless you need it for snakes if you spend a lot of time in the woods) .45lc is an okay round that's expensive and the ammo selection is trash. .410 is weak and really only effective on snakes and rodents. But I digress.

The judge had a problem with its ratchet. It would skip on the cylinder and be left in a "neutral" position in between two chambers. I'd have to manually rotate the cylinder to the next chamber. Cheap trash.

The model 82 had a sporadic trigger issue. After fully depressing the trigger and dropping the hammer, then releasing the trigger, the trigger/hammer mechanism would bind up and I'd have to unload it and play around with the hammer to get it running again.

The 85 was the only one that was halfway decent.

Thanks, how about the G2C 9mm semi-auto?

I hate to carry off-body; but when I have to, I wear a sling like this. I prefer not to, though. I feel like ccw slings and backpacks are about as concealed as open carrying.

when do you wear a sling as opposed to on the body?

I'll wear a sling if I'm going to get x-rays or take a physical, or if I have a casual business meeting and I don't wear a blazer. I can keep a pistol in my sling along with my tablet, notebook, etc., so my gun is still concealed. When I go to the pool or to the gym, I keep carry in my gym bag.
Any other time, my gun is on my body.
