To your 1st bullet point, Id argue that this point only applies to the robbers, home intruders, etc... that are committing criminal activities as a way to survive. Most of these school shooters weren’t criminals before the mass shooting. There's a possibility that these shooters would have never aquired these weapons if they had to commit a criminal act just to gain possession.

As far as the 3rd point, again how many of these mass shooters are using 3d printed guns, importing weapons, forging docs, etc...? At this point, they don't have to do any of these things and I'm not sure if there is enough evidence to suggest they would go through these lengths to carry out these acts.

He used the "committing crimes to feed my family" rhetoric. :russ:

Cool, you got it B. :hubie:

Not sure what you're implying. Also don't think you understand my point. I thought we were having an open discussion. Why so dismissive?

We? I mean I wasn't even talking to you, me, @Morethan1, and @breakfuss were talking from another thread. :shaq2:

Anybody that wants to commit a mass shooting will find away, regardless of what happens with gun legislation. Motherfukkers already have 3D printed switches for their Glocks, you don't think anyone whose brain is so fukked up that doing doing something like this has passed their mental muster is gonna hit the :hubie: if X type of gun is suddenly harder to get, or illegal? :mjlol:

Your other "point" was irrelevant because none of those things are necessary yet. I asked him what gun control measures he'd want implemented. You deflected from the question I asked him and said you don't think folks will go that far. I got cacs at work that be printing shyt. There have been several incidents in which guns were used by people illegally owning them that finessed the system. If you don't think they will then cool, you know exactly what you need to get done. Good luck making it happen.

You literally said you brought this conversation into this thread because the other thread wasn't the best place to discuss the merits of owning a gun. I didnt even see that other thread. You brought this to my attention by posting it here. If you didn't want input from others, why not keep it in dms instead of bringing it here to another public place where you felt you had more backup?

Anyway, to answer your question, "Do you think certain guns becoming harder to access will deter people from mass shootings?" My answer is yes.

To what extent? I have no idea. But logically, how does adding an extra hurdle not slow people down? How does allowing deranged people to casually walk into a gun shop and leave with multiple, ready-to-go weapons the same day, sound better than forcing these idiots to find a 3d printer, make 3d parts, assemble parts correctly before shooting up a school?

And the people at your work printing 3d parts for their guns are the same people I work with... gun hobbyists, people that shoot recreationally, and people that own guns for self defense. We don't know if these other idiots are willing to do this because at this point, they don't have to.

I don't DM @Another Man like that. Nobody said other people couldn't respond but you all up in the Kool-aid and don't even know the flavor.

fukk I need "backup" on a message board for? shyt ain't deep like that.

Cool. We disagree and can just keep it at that. Going back and forth is pointless unless further legislation results from this latest massacre. :hubie:

You're right. I didn't know what was said in the other thread and was only replying to what I saw here. Definitely could've misinterpreted what I read.

i have no idea where to post this just found it funny, idk. american journalist tries to interview a dpr sniper about the war and all he wants to do is autistically gush about his mosin and explain the action for five minutes. kinda charming to see the russian peasant version of "this is my rifle, there are many like it but this one's mine," too bad these guys are probably already dead.

if they were russian soldiers or dpr volunteers i'd spit on their graves, these cacs may be brainwashed but they're all drafted and used as cannon fodder

i'd probably do the same thing if i was forced to fight and being interviewed, try to cope by going "hey at least they gave me a cool gun" :yeshrug:

Why would they be dead? They’ve managed alright for 7 years & now Russia is openly supporting them.

I got the cure for these shootings.

1. Prosecute family who give access to a firearm that leads to a mass shooting. If the gun was stolen it shoulda be reported.

2. (Optional) Bring financial ruin to and or prosecute people who do number 1 online in seedy corners of the internet if it leads to a shooting

3. Expedite death penalty to 90 days by firing squad for any captured shooter.

Put this law in place for 10 years and Renew as needed.

This will do 2 things.

1. It will end the breeding ground for the majority of these shooters

2. Whoever is not stopped by the first 2 will give pause to being executed within 90 days or at the least ensure they kill themselves immediately.

I feel this will reduce these shootings by 75- percent in 5 years time.
