I'm not into the AK game like that.
Checkout Rob Ski on youtube though, the man will drop lots of knowledge on the gear that is solid.

I have a Midwest Industries handguard on my AK, it's 6061 aluminum and it does not require a handguard retainer.

Hit or miss depending on the model.
I know some people that swear by them though.
they've improved the quality. i have a pt111 that my brother gave me. inexpensive for someone not looking to spend 450+ for a handgun.
go to youtube and look up hickock45's reviews and see if he's reviewed the model you're looking at. he gave the pt111 a good review.

cause they're not on the safe handgun roster, CA requires all handguns designed past a certain date to have a not-yet invented technology in them to be listed on the rosterWhy is Glock 19 gen 4&5 illegal in CA
but cops are allowed to buy these "unsafe" guns and sell them to humans and that's ok to CA
that's why gen5 glock 19s cost a shytload and it's all straight profit to cops
