All that is missing now is for JSU to snatch up all of Southern Mississippi top recruits now. JSU might as well cause they the 3rd best college football team in the Sip cause Southern Mississippi is trash now.
A lot of talent in South Mississippi to be snatched up. My high school was the #1 ranked team in the state. One of the best QBs in the country. Biloxi and Gulfport always up there when it comes to talent. Oak Grove, George County, Gautier, and Moss Point all got some talent. Prime needs to come on down to the coast and recruit.

I can’t stand Southern Miss lol. That’s the default college that everyone from my high school goes to. There or South Alabama. They tried to recruit me but I knew I was going to my parents alma mater, NC A&T. The rich white folks went to Ole Piss

True breh there is so much talent in Mississippi if they had the amount of people say a California or Texas has they would probably have more players in the NFL percentage wise than anyone. But the real issue is the recruiting competition in the state. Thats the thing folks in the MEAC don't understand when they compare the talent in the SWAC to the MEAC concerning the Celebration Bowl and the matchups over the last 15 years (how the MEAC has won)

The SWAC is in the Heart of the SEC the SEC has won/will win every National Championship since 2006 to 2021 except THREE TIMES.

The MEAC is in the ACC country and don't have to compete like this for recruits. They can kind of recruit without being molested.

Also people have no idea that in Mississippi alone they have 5 of the top 20 JUCO Football power schools in the Nation. Plus like 2 or 3 JUCO schools who are like second tier JUCO football power schools.

So if you are Alcorn, Valley or JSU you got to compete not only with the PWIs in your state for recruits (USM, Miss ST and Ole Miss), compete against the SEC powers and compete against the Top 5 JUCO Football Power Schools that are in your state (like Colin, Jones, East Mississippi, Hinds, Mississippi Gulf Coast and etc). Its no wonder that the SWAC has struggled to get talent for the last 15 years.

Also wanted to say that people don't know that places like East Mississippi, Hinds, Jones and Mississippi Gulf Coast are feeder schools for the SEC and smaller PWIs like the American Conference and Conference USA. People don't know that often times in Mississippi, Alabama or Louisiana if a kids grades are not good or if their team has too much depth at the position a kid plays. A P5 PWI team like LSU, Tennessee, Alabama and etc. Will have the kid go to Hinds, Jones, East Mississippi, Mississippi gulf coast. Have them play two years and then have them sent to the P5 PWI.

Look at the last 10 years and how many of the top 20 JUCO players every year recruited come out of those Mississippi JUCO schools its literally insane.

So if you are Alcorn, JSU, Valley, PV, Alabama A&M. You might go to a recruits house and try to sign him thinking you got a chance cause he is a 3 star or 2 star with poor grads. But shyt Colin or Jones community college offering him a 2 year scholarship and a possibility if he performs to maybe get on at USM, Memphis, East Carolina, UCF, North Texas, Western Kentucky and etc once their two years at Juco is up.

That is why the talent has been so bad in the SWAC the last 15 years before Deion came. His visibility has helped the SWAC get back talent that they ain't seen since the 90s in just one offseason.

@CarolinaBigAggie one more thing concerning USM. The word is they don't want to play JSU any longer due to JSU being talented now and USM being trash now. They don't want to get that ass beat. It was all good when they had more talent than JSU and the other HBCUs, but now the tables have turned and they don't want to play now.

USM also don't want to be embarrassed when JSU comes to Hattiesburg and fills up their stadium and most the people are JSU fans because USM can't get more than 20K people in their stadium anymore.

USM has Grambling on the schedule in 2023 I think. Hue Jackson is building a team at Grambling so if that game is close or USM loses expect them to not play Grambling or JSU again for the next 15 to 20 years. If they want that SWAC/black folks money filling the stadium in Hattiesburg they will just schedule Valley or Alcorn unless those two SWAC schools also get better recruiting wise.

Finally speaking of the Mississippi Juco football powers. The reason USM is no longer a power in conference USA like they were in the 90s and early 2000s. Is because once coach bower left so did their pipeline to all those Mississippi Juco players that they would load their team up with. USM/Bower had a pipeline with Hinds and Jones that a lot of players from Alabama and Mississippi who went to those Jucos would end up at USM. Its was times that USM starting defense (which they were known for back then) would be like half or more Mississippi Juco schools transfers some seasons under coach bower.

Once that Bower/pipeline was gone so was USM being competitive in football year end year out.

USM doesn’t wanna have to pay Jackson, and get that ass beat.

Southern Miss to the top, tho. SMTTT :mjlol:

Had one of the best WR’s in the country, that went to my high school, go to USM. LSU wanted him bad, but he didn’t have the grades.

So many of my brehs ended up going to Perk (MGCCC) cause they didn’t have the grades, and wanted to ball out, while getting their grades up, to try and eventually get to a SEC team. My high school, Ocean Springs, has been a powerhouse in high school football for awhile. Most them end up going to Perk. Now, with Jackson being good and on the map, maybe they’ll go there. I thought about Jackson State, as well as, Miss State and LSU, but with my parents going to A&T and my fam being in NC, I knew I was going back home.

HAHA its all good breh. I know what high school you talking about. I went to USM, then Miss St for grad school. My parents wouldn't let me go away to school (I was born and raised in Chicago) unless I went to Mississippi where my father's side of the family. My parents gave me three choices either got to Jackson state (like 15 family members on my fathers side went to JSU), Valley or go to USM.

At the time my cousin was a professor at JSU and I had another cousin who worked in the financial aid office. At Valley I had a cousin my age going there and at USM I had three older cousins that went there. I wanted to go to JSU, but my older cousin who was a professor was gonna be on me like white on rice making sure I acted right. So of course like a dumb youngster I didn't want that drama...:mjlol:. Thought about Valley, but its nothing there in itta bena and its down the street from where my dad's family lived in Greenwood. So my great aunts were gonna be on campus on my little hard headed ass every day...:russ:.

So I picked USM cause it was far enough away from my cousins and aunts who were gonna ride my ass. But close enough with my other cousins so my parents would let me go away to college...:lolbron:.

But yeah with JSU I mentioned if they can just get the talent USM was getting under bower and from the Mississippi JUCOs they will be able to be a major power for years to come. Hell thats what I thought Deion was gonna do. Cause we know living in Mississippi black folks love to go to Jackson and the coast to kick it..:lolbron:. So Jackson recruits itself if he could get the program going with good visibility. But hell Deion even blew my wildest dreams out the water he said fukk that shyt and started getting Top 5 star talent to go to JSU...:lolbron:.

I am loving every minute of this cause when them none Mississippi high school recruits come to Jack Town to visit JSU I know they surprised to see all them black folks kicking it at the games and just having fun. Like I mentioned I went to the SWAC Championship game and there were 50K at the game but 50K to 100K outside the game tailgating, having a car show and having a music fest...:russ:. Can't no true blood young black male recruit resist that shyt...:russ:. Jokers were shooting big time aerial fireworks right outside the stadium during the game while tailgating...:russ:. JSU scores a TD and jokers outside the stadium shooting fire works in the sky like its the 4th of july...:mjlol:

This should help JSU’s basketball team too. Everyone in the state knows the Jackson Metro is where the talent is. Most of the well known stars in the league from the Sip came from the Jackson area. Prime can and is doing so much for that area. Jackson has been a dump for awhile, and crime has been outta control. Prime can help get more money into the city, because like you said, in Mississippi, it’s Jackson and the Coast. When you speak of the Sipp now, it’s mainly those areas that are the focus
