no it wouldn't. there isn't a real culture of giving at HBCUs so why would it magically start when it's not even a one time thing. this would be about guaranteeing the salaries for the length of the contracts. then you would get in a situation where people are making the football staff feel bad because all the money the school is raising is going to them.

when SMU offered their no tv money deal to the ACC, Big 12 and Pac 12 in the spring they had donors worth $15b gathered in a room and one of them said $200m ain't shyt. they had to guarantee the ACC that they had the money available to forgo 9 years or tv revenue because the conference would still want them to actually be competitive and if you're at a financial disadvantage then you'll suck.

FCS schools can't realistically keep a wanted coaching staff, it just doesn't work like that. they're not raising $10m a year just for coaches.

Serious question: Do you really believe this?

HBCU coaches/staff are criminally underpaid with substandard facilities. JSU was always going to be a temporary situation

But he also said it wasn’t just about Jackson St. He said he builds up Jackson St. and then what? There was already resentment from other schools in the SWAC and it was only going to get worse.

At the end of the day, he showed Jackson St and the SWAC what was possible. He showed you can get top recruits. He showed you can get sponsorships. He showed you can generate way more revenue and negotiate better deals. It’s up to them to build from that.

But you got 11 other schools that weren’t on the same level. Grambling just lost to LSU 72-10. They still playing in these money game blowouts for peanuts, something Prime put a stop to when he first got there.

Even if he stayed, it would’ve taken 20 years to elevate the SWAC.

These the nikkas Coach Prime was talking about in the post game interview last week

You don't believe. Next question :scust:

Her body pretty straight but that face ain't hitting on much. On another note, I watched a Shilo video and got damn these kids are rich af off these NIL deals. Shadeur riding around campus in a Mabauch truck, and even Darius going to LV and Gucci and dropping bags. Shilo went to LV and dropped $15k on a handbag. :wow:
In a whole different time now away from when student athletes were saying they would go to sleep hungry without food :pachaha:

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
We have to stop making the mistake of thinking this could happen for many more people other than Prime.

He has the charisma to go to a place like Colorado that's been a doormat and bring players with him, but also get the white fanbase behind him as well.
Everybody cannot do this. This man might be the prototype for coaches in the NIL/transfer portal era.

If Eddie George (Tennessee State) is still taking money games and going to Notre Dame to get beat down, then we have to be realistic and say Deion is just different. That's not possible for everybody. Eddie George is well liked by people.

So these HBCUs have always had a hinderance in front of them. They have been purposefully underfunded to the point now that they are way behind the PWIs. They don't have all of the corporations and money people behind them like PWIs, so they can't compete on that level either.

The corporations followed Deion because he's always been a spokesperson in commercials for the past 30 years. They don't treat every black man like they do Deion. One thing about Prime is he's always been about making money and that's what these corporations are about 100%. So they fit well together. That man had fried chicken commercials during the Colorado game this past Saturday along with Aflac and Almonds, etc.

And top black players don't choose to go to HBCUs when they can go and have access at PWIs. We've seen this game long enough. Jackson State is right back to getting beat by these other SWAC teams the season after Deion left.

At the end of the day it’s basic math.

Jackson St has a total enrollment of maybe 8k or 9k tops. Colorado has a total enrollment of 36,000. Most of the SWAC have enrollment totals under 10,000. And they’re all FCS schools for a reason. The requirements to be FBS eligible alone would kill the budgets of damn near every HBCU.

Furthermore, HBCU’s is more than just the SWAC and MEAC. And honestly, I don’t like that they’re all segregated into one conference.

Above the fray.
Happy for Deion.

Shedeur is trying to protect his stats by not throwing the ball away, and taking sacks.

Other than that, team is making good in game adjustments and improving.

Their recruiting is about to be nuts going forward. I'm thinking this has to bleed out into the basketball program as well :lupe: :whew:

:dwillhuh: he’s Gucci if he attracts some 4/5 stars at Colorado? Are you kidding? Colorado is the warm up, this is just to show y’all what he’s capable of. I think it’s a matter of when not if he leaves for a major Power 5 job. Colorado gets 2 maybe 3 seasons of Prime
Nah he's going to stay at CU for a minute. They'll throw him an even bigger bag shortly. They already have great facilities and will improve even more so with this windfall of cash coming in. The stadium will be expanded and renovated in a year or so. Also Boulder is a suburb of Denver. They're in a major metro area. CU is letting him be him. Does he really want to cut all that off too early to deal with an entirely new AD, alumni, booster group, student body, etc. in a bigger program but still yet extremely southern mentally who won't really like a black man as head coach and who will want him to keep his mouth shut and become docile?

All the mid tier SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, ACC schools had plenty of time to hire him but didn't mainly because of their old school philosophies.

TYRONE GA!
Calvin Johnson was not there when we ran the triple option. Demaryus Thomas was.

Also that triple option got us in some big bowl games so it was good with me. Seems like people who had to play us are the ones who hated it. :manny:

This.

I'm not mad at the CPJ era at all. When it was time to move on, at least CPJ knew to step away.

People keep bring up Prime, but there were never serious discussions to bring him to the Flats. Woulda been dope and I think he woulda cleaned up being in Atlanta. Sure we couldn't get the regular jock meatheads, but we'd get the smart jock meatheads even more. But no one wanna take mandatory calculus. :mjlol:

This.

He's already a god there after 2 games. And has all the power and cacs kissing his ass.

The minute he starts losing at a major school or in the SEC, the :mjpls: gonna come out real quick like it always does. He's gucci there in Boulder.

Don't pull a Charlie Strong (left a perfect situation in Louisville to goto Texas...ain't been the same since :mjcry: ).
