"Due to overwhelming demand for Chromecast devices since launch, the 3-month Netflix promotion (which was available in limited quantities) is no longer available," Google told The Times in a statement

Google clarified that users who purchased Chromecast before the promotion ran out will still be able to redeem their Netflix promotion code for three free months of the video streaming service.

I forgot that when I got my basement finished I ran a line directly to my pc. What's the easiest way these days to make my computer wifi ready? About two years ago when I did it to my very old computer I had to put and adapter inside the casing. Is there anything easier these days like a usb adapter or something?

*Edit

Ok...google shows me there are usb adapters. Any recommendations?

About 2 and a half years. It's a Dell XPS that came with Windows 7 so it's not that old. I think for some reason I chose the non wi-fi model when I ordered though.

Kind of sucks that I have to be connected via wi-fi. The router I'm hardwired to is the wi-fi access point so I don't see the problem, but when I start the chromecast app on my pc it says I have to connect via wi-fi.

pc dont typically come with wifi adapters

I know...I want to be wired, but it says I must connect via wi-fi

:manny:

so your pc is hardwired and you think you have to be connected to wifi for the Chromecast?

all you need is to connect once to it with a wireless device like a phone, tablet or laptop then once its in your network your wired pc can access it

also Chromecast extension for Chrome

Copped my shyt yesterday it was the last one in Best Buy and I got the 3 free months on Netflix. Quick question has anyone been able to explore your local drive where you have movies then put the address in Chrome and successfully stream movies? I can do it but I only get audio.
