I don't think hiring more cops, let alone doubling the police force to be on every other block, is going to stop carjackers, shootings, gang shyt, etc, but pretty much everyone in this thread is not so subtly cosigning Vallas.

It seems pretty obvious that Vallas is the type to de-invest in social services to cut taxes for companies or to hire more cops and so even if he brings down crime tomorrow, he is creating a bigger problem down the road.

We didn't fukk w/ Rauner as governor fukking shyt up and Vallas is just a Mayoral version of him. What is the end goal? What are yall looking for exactly from Vallas? Maybe there's something I'm missing, but he seems like the typical Republican who is the the right of Lightfoot who jerked off the police for half her administration.

There is a delay on those Google Settlement checks for Illinois residents:

Rivera, et al. v. Google LLC – Settlement Website – Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois | Case No. 2019-CH-00990

Update: A motion to intervene has been filed by a putative intervenor challenging the claim-verification process being administered by the Settlement Administrator. A copy of the filings with the Court are available on the Court Documents page of this website. Payment of claims will be delayed until this individual’s motion to intervene and proposed objection are resolved. The Court has set a hearing on the motion to intervene on April 14, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. Central Time via the Court’s Zoom link. Updates will be posted on this website as they become available.

The Court has postponed the hearing originally scheduled for February 24, 2023. A new hearing on the motion to intervene is scheduled for April 14, 2023, at 1:30 p.m

A moderate, grifting Democrat.....and could very well be a wolf in sheep's clothing after he takes office.

Everyone who plans on being mayor of Chicago needs to say they’re a Democrat even if they’re a Republican.

Is this related to Google Photos? :jbhmm:

The “claim verification” joint…someone close to me actually decided not to follow up because they wanted a screenshot of their state ID/driver’s license.

I could’ve went for it too, as I appear in a number of photos on that account. Was iffy about submitting that info was well

Yep

Similar to the social media claims from last year. My cousin put me on.

The settlement check were initially set to be released 'within 90 days after Christmas'....as the put it. However, this new motion that was filed recently has put a delay on it.

Yea I know the mail-in ballots are supposed to be counted and we may have a few days for that, but I was legit surprised to see Johnson leading over Vallas so far
I think he was behind for most of the night, but the mail-ins have gone steadily in his favor, likely because progressives tend to vote in advance
