When I seen this story this morning I said something didn't seem right. Now they saying story ain't adding up.

Either buddy that shot him was legit cool/fukking his neice & they panicked when caught. Or I peeped he a retired railroad worker & I'm sure that pension/life insurance is decent .

Bless up to him though very unfortunate.

all I see is like 600k plus homes for sell in Bronzeville. The next economic collapse is going to reduce most of those prices by half. Bronzeville is not really being gentrified it's just middle class blacks moving in. and it's still grimy as hell in many areas.

I've noticed this as well. I remember 10 years ago, people thought bronzeville was gonna gentrify. that' shyt didn't happen, and people took a lot of L's when the housing market crashed. but now, they are legit building new houses and new businesses, which wasn't the case originally.

I'm in starbucks on 87th by the expressway cuz my power is out and my crib is cold, and I've seen a number of white people in here over the past couple hours which I have never seen happen before. hell, as I type this, another white businessman just came in here :mindblown:

Prices are high, but I think this time it's for the long haul. The reason its taken this long is there was still a lot of room for development in the north side that was close enough to public transportation etc. but now that bucktown/wicker/logan square etc are all densely packed, you're now going so far north/west that at some point ppl dont want to be that far from the city. a lot of ppl associate gentrification with what you see in logan square - where the neighborhoods revolve around the restaurants/bars/arts etc scene. there are still a lot of ppl who want to live closer to the city but are more into the family friendly lifestyle. Bronzeville is nice in that it's close to the lake, close to the city and there are more single family homes that may be 600K, but if it were on the north side might be $1M +

one thing that has always been true in chicago is that once white people with money move into your neighborhood, eventually it will fully gentrify...look at Pilsen, humboldt Park, Woodlawn, soon E. Garfield, south shore

Rahm hand picked Eddie after the laqua McDonald tape came out. Sounds like they already got the former LA police chief coming in as the interim chief as we speak.

yup, I’m sure she wanted him out from the beginning but was hoping he would’ve left voluntarily. That’s a major power base that every mayor wants to control.

:mjpls:

most of the people who get wrapped up in those gang injunctions are just people from the hood who are associated but arent active.

As grown ass adults we should be able to develop a system that differentiates between the two. But there absolutely needs to be more effort/investment/resources in targeting specific drivers of violence. Not sure why that would be controversial to say.

Chicago - SouthSide - Wild 100s
Was up in Park Forest...

Was a eerie feeling cause I haven't been there in 4 years...specifically since my aunt passed in july 2015. The vibes just don't sit right with me anymore...being in that area makes me depressed knowing she's gone.

I dont see it. I rarely see any white ppl outside of the prairie shore and lake meadow area and they have been there for decades. When I start seeing cacs past 35th I'll get concerned.

I just think that Chicago is changing faster than most ppl appreciate. It's a "tale of two cities" on steroids and poor/working class folks getting pushed out like crazy.

where the city basically files a restraining order against the gang and they go do sweeps and arrest anyone associated with the gang.
Why u think all of the drill rappers moved outta Chicago when they signed their life away shyt real out here ain't no artists that's signed to major label lives in Chicago unless downtown even that's risky

R.kelly lived here since he blew up and never had issues.

Common moved to NYC but stays here occasionally never had issues

Lupe never had issues

When Kanye comes around he doesnt have issues

:usure:

Those drill nikkas are gangbanging on wax of course nikkas are going to run down on them because they are a trophy.

Bro ik CPS was trash but breh reading comprehension stop deflecting those were different times for Chicago artists why da hell would u compare Lupe r Kelly anybody known that blew up from the chi moved the fuk out of Chicago because they could afford it at the time. I specifically said "drill rappers" that got signed from 2011-now they don't live in Chicago anymore if they live in Chicago their either independent or got dropped from a label. Stop :cape:in for this corrupted slick racists gentrified ass city :aicmon: ain't no damn labels in Chicago Chicago doesn't have a music industry breh you basically proved my point.
