I went. It was lit.Anybody go to the Brew Fest? Hyde Park is a fukking mess.
Reminds me I gotta go back down to Thomson center to retake some. My dumb ass kept hitting back space on the typing
Everything else I passed . I got a few applications currently under review for federal & cook county .
It’s impossible to get a job with the state or UIC
I scored a 98% on a civil service exam and I wasn’t even in the top 20
I just moved out here and stay in the west loop.
What is there to do in the summer tired of hitting the same spots (revery drinkhaus subT etc)
Good luck getting a job with any municipality (state/county/city) without being plugged. My neighbor works for the city in the water department getting $40/hr. Then double time if they ever need him on a Sunday. Dude is only like 31. If he gets lots of overtime, he makes more bread than I do
Came to say the same, hopped right on the metra electric. My guy posted some dope vids on his insta.I went. It was lit.
Imma light it up Wednesday. I get off early, one of my girl's LINK card reloads tomarrah....so Imma rack up on some meat and have some people over for Game 3 of the FinalsDid another weekend of grilling.
Might try to get out there next week too if the weather allow it
Like any employer, public or private, having a plug can only help but it really depends on the agency. There are some where the hiring is much more professional/insulated from politics. Water Management is definitely good ol' boy territory. Straight out of the 1950s
its the most vibrant and poppin area of Chicago. Can't stand the West loop and Fulton market area. They are squishing people in that area like sardines. Then they put hella stop signs on lake Street now so u are stopping every fukking block. And of course it's now prohibitively expensive to live in that area.
People even getting that work in cretePark forest nikkas swear the co-ops the trenches
yeah, dude is making good money with water dept. I looked up his salary on the internet cuz the city/county tells how much everyone makes.
that said, the job I got (I'm in healthcare) I got it because my boss put up a job listing on a listserv I was subscribed to and I contacted her directly about it when I was still in texas. that's how I was able to move back up here.
but when it comes to my current job, I came and interviewed the friday before memorial day in 2018 after driving 14 hours from dallas to chicago and then coming straight to the interview exhausted. so they saw I was serious and hungry for the job.
FACTS I work I that area and its always popping.its the most vibrant and poppin area of Chicago.
great restaurants and nightlife
I love it here
