im really just trying to be on day parties and brunch to get that DC feeling back

80 proof had a nice vibe, any suggestions.
  • DrinkHaus' brunch is better than their evening/night events.
  • Trophy Room is working on establishing a brunch as is Bar 22 on Sundays
  • Blackout Brunch takes place once a month at Untitled typically
  • Persona has decent day parties
  • Bureau Bar @ UIC is also an up-and-coming venue with a decent amount of space. Same block as Trophy Room so good for a 1-2 punch
  • Promontory and Renaissance are in Hyde Park or Bronzeville have dope patios for day parties
  • Hyde Park Brew Fest all of next weekend (hit up Saturday and if you like it, go Sunday as well)
  • Silver Room Block Party in July
  • You will probably end up partying on the Anita Dee boat at least once.
  • Y-Bar, Electric Hotel, Soundbar all kinda blend together. Stuck-up girls and overpriced alcohol (even by Chicago standards)

Outside of that list, it is more about following promoters for the next move. There aren't many venues catering exclusively to African-Americans and so promoters might throw one-off parties @ unfamiliar venues and you would miss hearing about it if you didn't follow them on social media.

What's your vibe ? House music festival is this weekend, India arie is at the Casino, 90's R&B at the chicago theater, Yo Gotti and young MA at UIC pavillion. A comedy show at the Promontory tonight and tomorrow, I need to see where day parties are going to be for the holiday weekend. I'll post if I find something that looks interesting

That's about all on my radar for the weekend, will prob pick one or two

Naw I'm flabbergasted they ain't hiring for damn near years
Who would quit:russ:
Considering you gone get pay raises, the worse you may encounter is maybe a dead body but that I would assume is very rare. Also I don't think they even work night shifts & prob only weekdays:manny:
