Charlotte going down sad. Y’all shut the city down over a small amount of snow. When I lived in Chicago we would get 3 to 4 feet and still keep on going. Just shovel that shyt ourselves, wipe our cars off and get right to work. Y’all ransack stores and act like you can’t drive or function.
I'm from NC and have never understood the carnage people create when INCLEMENT WEATHER!!!!111!!!11 is announced.

You seen people driving in that shyt last week? I was on the road dam near my entire work shift and these fools were driving crazy. Working in the NC mountains has made me better driving in the snow and I’m thankful.. Man I saw so many near accidents out there. We only get snow like once every couple years lol
It’s ridiculous. Like they even closed schools on Tuesday and the roads were fine… smh.

@Cooligan i was so pissed when I went to the store and so it was ransacked. The only city that is worse than y’all that I lived in so far is Nashville. Man one day it barely dusted—snow didn’t even stick and they closed everything down, smh. Philly was kind of lame in that regard too—for a northern city I expected better but more then a couple of feet and snow and they were tripping too(stores ransacked, schools closed, smh). I am glad that we’re having an actual winter this year though.

This same exact conversation is had every time it snows. It hardly ever snows here so it's easier to shut stuff down instead of maintaining snow clearing equipment that will barely be used.
Yeah it’s definitely a waste of time to talk about it.,Charlotte DOT had all kinds of salt ready.. that’s good for Charlotte. The mountains have to stay ready so that’s a different animal. I felt like they were slow in some areas of Charlotte but I wasn’t too mad at how they handled it

I remember my first winter down here, there was a wintry mix. Now, I had been off that day, I was running errands around town, driving and everything. It was basically rain, not even sleet or snow. Since I was going to be out, I had left some stuff for my colleagues to follow up on. I got back in the office the next day, and nothing had been done. I asked them about it, and they was like "didn't you hear? The office was closed" I was like "really? why? what happened?" They looked at me like I was crazy and said, "the weather....." It was inconceivable to me that they would go ahead and close the office for that. But they explained to me how the previous year, they had experienced an ice event that caught people slipping, folks had to sleep in their cars, got stuck at work. They asked me if I didn't experience that kind of stuff back in NY, and I was like, "yeah, it's called Wednesday" :russ:

I had to get gas a little while ago and the roads were actually kind of slick. No way I'd be out now. It's so pretty (:dame:) tho.
