Yeah I’m on the subreddit too. I was thinking about making a discord or a telegram :jbhmm:

Charlotte Auto Show start tomorrow. I went in 2019, it was cool. It's more so geared toward those in the market for a car.

Could be a decent idea I suppose with the right group. I clicked the Charlotte subreddit discord this morning and it was all memes, tiktok videos, & spam.

The Charlotte subreddit is full of racists. I used to visit there and the City Data Charlotte forums and they are both :mjpls:
Never visited the City Data forums but I definitely got that vibe from the subreddit, especially when someone asks about housing in certain areas.

Just wait for any negative reddit post involving a Black person or the next time there are protests in Charlotte involving Black people. The racism will be blatant.

What is going on with CMS? Mallard Creek HS was placed on lockdown yesterday due to the amount of fights. I don’t wanna sound old (I’m 34) but “back in my day” :skip:, ac occasional fight was normal. WSOC called this an all-out brawl, smh.

Anyone have info on whats going on in there? The Sheriffs office is also being sued for the gun permit delays

Yea it took me a MIN to renew mine that had expired earlier this year. Like it was legit 5 months till they finally sent me my new permits.

I’m ready though now

Vegan soul food restaurant VelTree, the Vegan experience has moved its operations. Owners Velvet and Treona Kelty-Jacobs have opened a new location in Ballantyne Village and closed their University City location.

VelTree’s new location will eventually become a full-service restaurant, but it is now open for takeout and delivery only with a limited menu.

“Our mission is simply to provide plant-based food that feeds not only the body but also the soul,” chef and co-owner Velvet Kelty-Jacobs shared with CharlotteFive when its first location opened in 2018.

From its chic’n drumsticks to its ribz, jerk chic’n and famous mac n’ cheeze — Veltree has quickly made a name for itself on the Charlotte vegan scene. The Black women-owned restaurant has attracted celebrities including Tamar Braxton, Nick Cannon and Anthony Hamilton. It has also been recognized by PETA as one of the top 5 vegan soul food spots in the U.S.

Speaking on the growing trend of plant-based eating, Jacobs told CharlotteFive, “Vegan food has come so far from the traditional grass food of old. Whether you cook it from an online video, recipe, or pick it up from a local vegan spot, give your taste buds a new experience in 2021,” Velvet Kelty-Jacobs said.
