I could imagine transplants from other major cities possibly feeling over Charlotte.

There's no reason to feel that way about the city. Charlotte has everything that anyone needs, and most of the people who say they don't like it here compare it to larger cities like NYC and LA and of course we don't have the kind of stuff that those cities have.
