Pretty much. There's little spots peppered around the city. But Downtown is always gurranteed.

Oh yeah, and the public transportation is ass. The buses are never on time and the routes run through the ghetto. A car is a must.

Uptown is overrated. It's just one square mile of office buildings with a few bars and restaurants sprinkled in the area. The only neighborhoods worth spending any time in are NoDa and Dilworth. NoDa is like a poor man's version of Williamsburg, Brooklyn in that it's maybe 1/1000th its size and there are no million dollar condos. Dilworth is like Murray Hill in New York or Lincoln Park in Chicago, very fratty and filled with recent college grads with bars oriented towards that demo. The rest of Charlotte is just one big boring suburb surrounding Uptown. I lived in Charlotte for 9 months and hated it.
