Yeah that card was ridiculous but that's what your corner is for....someone in Lara's ear should've given him the cold TRUTH on some "brotha you ain't got a snowball's chance of winning a close fight so take this boy to the woodshed" type talk....someonenot keeping it real with him or he was being too self-confident in his abilities and not being a well-rounded fighter..
I wouldn't fight Molina no matter what @ 154 if I'm a money making fighter.
I know right. With the way Lara was talking prefight, I thought he was going to come out dominating. Dude just ran, and his corner didn't say shyt about it.

Had it 15-13 Lara but it was a mexican crowd and Lara wasn't the aggressor so

when you have a sober mind rewatch this fight...Lara gave too many rounds its more so his fault then canelo showing top notch skill...fukk that judge tho but even without that judge lara still lost.Aint no draw happening either...rising stars,top boxing stars with a huge following or fighting in the boxers hometown..In close fights you cant let one round up..you got to clearly one side box lesson a dude like floyd does or KO/TKO..you aint getting no close dec breh...its been like that for a long time.
young rojo needs to stay away from skillful boxers from now on..yea he won but just barely...dont even attempt a Molia fight go after decent boxer punchers or brawlers.

Fight sounds like it was pretty close to call can't wait to watch it before I knock out. How was the rest of the card Ring Elite?

It WAS before this but Cotto in shape committed moving and throwing a stiff jab could school Canelo based off what I saw. He's a much harder puncher than Lara or Trout (not 1 punch but lands heavy), has excellent footwork and an INFINITELY more diversified attack than jab/cross Lara. He'll be throwing combinations and Canelo will be a sitting target. Plus he fights well in close quarters he just needs to stay off the ropes and not let Canelo's 170lbs lean on him on some Wlad/Povetkin type stuff (I doubt it, his experience won't allow that).
I think Canelo is good, but this is about as good as it gets....slightly above average and that lack of KO power if he goes to MW is going to be a serious issue for him...I think he knows it too so he can fight naturally smaller guys, hence why he's staying at 154. But I give him props for solid competition in the last year and a half.
Low key that Molina fight was where I knew Lara would take the L tonight and you and me were the only ones to bring that fight up since this was announced. Could it be that Lara stans weren't watching him back then?
shyt i had to keep bringing up that fight ever since they started bringing up that boogieman/feared nonsense for lara as a selling point..its hilarious the same shyt that lost lara this fight was the same thing that happened in that molina fight that got him that gift draw..except unlike canelo molina is solid technically and was able to pressure, cut off the ring on his ass, and give him work..lara was showing all the tentative shyt then.. throwing only one shot at a time and throwing only the right jab/straight left hand..lara's getting read like a book...dude really needs to diversify his offense.its not the amateurs lol

I had the first 9 rounds scored exactly the same as Martinez. I had 10 & 11 for Lara and 12 for Canelo though

Had it 115-113 for Lara but this wasn't a robbery...The rounds were close so I can understand penalizing Lara for being on his bike and awarding Canelo close rounds for being the aggressor... I scored 1,2,3,6,10,11,12 for Lara based off controlling the pace of the fight (ring generalship) and effective punching same as Jerry Roth...
This fight wasn't like Canelo/Trout where Canelo was inactive but Trout never landed anything hard...I had Canelo winning that fight because Trout simply never landed anything of substance, his work was ineffective...Lara boxed Canelo's head off when he actually let his hands go last night...He was tagging Canelo CLEANLY all night with the jab straight left combo snapping his head back...He was effectively stopping Canelo in his tracks and neutralizing him with his left... The problem for Lara was he stopped fighting in the middle rounds and hopped on the bike... 4,5,6 ,7,8,9 could have gone either way...The other judges favored the aggressor, hence the outcome… That 117 shyt is unacceptable though, Canelo receiving champ treatment even though he didn't have a strap on the line is a fukking joke...1,2,3,10,11 were clearly Lara rounds...He outworked Canelo and won those rounds cleanly...I gave Lara the 12th because he finished it strong...Canelo came out throwing bombs the first minute of that round and then disappeared...Lara's jab straight left combo dominated the next two minutes of that round...
Anyways I completely agree with Canelo not giving Lara a rematch…Lara talked a lot of trash and didn’t come to fight…He showed up to steal a decision and that is not worthy of a rematch …

It's different types of fighters, when you put a brawler / power puncher up against a lean,finesse, boxer, you get what happened last night, only problem is that the fix was in.

Judging round by round by round it's either a close fight that can go either way or Lara ahead by 3. Heck the show time ppv unofficial scoring was watching the fight as unbiased as me, and ranked Lara ahead by 3 rounds. And after the fight some of the analyst even called the fukk shyt out.....

I don't post often but I'm the furthest thing from a Canelo fan but Lara did absolutely nothing for about 4 straight rounds his corner was terrible too telling him he was winning...if you saw any of my earlier posts you'd know I said 117-111 is ridiculous but either fighter winning I wouldn't have had a problem with. It's about ring generalship and composure as well as aggressiveness when a fight is close. Where was Lara's hook to the body? Whenever they clinched Canelo threw punches dude still thinks it's Olympic point scoring he threw no hooks, uppercuts or body shots...Lara at times literally backed up...threw a jab circled wash rinse and repeat...dude had a chance to cement his foothold on the fight and took command but took his foot off the gas plain and simple. This should've been Rigo vs Donaire all over again. And get out of here with defensive specialist....defensive specialists don't get dropped by slow, plodding fighters like Angulo or gets confused by Carlos Molina...he's technically sound with no adjustments in his offensive tactics.
And what exactly did Canelo do to prove he could beat Cotto? Cotto is shop-worn based on tough fights but Cotto struggles with guys who can walk him down with fast hands or guys like Floyd/Trout who have long arms and are technically sound....Canelo is neither and he's poor at cutting off the ring I think Cotto UD's Canelo.
