:whoa:

I'm just responding to the quote that said he has been bullshytting since Vic which was bullshyt imo because Montiel>>>Vic.

And to those saying he is not a top 5 p4p guy you better not have Pacman in that top 5. :mjpls:

After Vic, Nontio fought 7 times before facing Montiel, 3 at flyweight, 3 at junior bantamweight, and 1 at bantam weight...

Now I can't shyt on his one bout at bantam seeing as how Montiel was his next opponent and at the time Sydorenko (sp?) was a top 10 bantam and former champ. As far as a first fight up to a new weight, ok, no problem.

So with one excused...what excuse is there for the other 6 bouts? Everyone was ducking him to the point he had to fight the likes of Raul Martinez?

Luis Maldanado- :rudy:
Mthalane- Upset was brewing until that cut...maybe; however, dude was still unproven, but showed that he had major potential (exception, not the rule)
Raul Martinez- :why:

^^Now, at flyweight alone, there was Omar Navarez (instead of waiting to 2011 at a higher weight class), Daisuke Naito, Pongsak Wongjongkam, Mthalane rematch if you wanna get funky :smugfavre: , Sakata, Denkaosan, (Denk ended up dealing with Sakata though)

At Super Fly though...Vic rematch should've happened, I'm not gonna blame Nonito because I have no idea who's fault that was, BUT he fought the lame comp at that time. Cazares was there too...not much else unfortunately. As far as who he did face, One was WAY over the hill, the other unproven like a mofo. And Concepcion was/is :birdman:

On that note...
Marquez-Viloria will be :ohlawd: 11/17

Now, any other fighter would not get as much scrutiny, but this is a guy that regularly shows up anywhere from 3-10 on major p4p lists...fighting top comp is a must, otherwise, you're just a top guy at your weight class living off 3/13 high caliber bouts. That's :aicmon: shooting percentage :gladbron:

don't know if anyone here knows, but there's a password

Tickets | World Championship Boxing Returns To Brooklyn - Brooklyn NY at Ticketmaster

for the fights this saturday, might be a promotion i dont know.

im looking to go for this but looking at ticketmaster it seems this isn't selling well at all (inexplicable), so either looking for something cheap to get in and give myself an upgrade (:takedat:), or get something in better seats of half off of something. any suggestions, anyone know the password? im pretty sure its gonna end up being a 2 for 1, or severe discount

not gonna pay 60 bucks for nosebleeds.

A source has informed Fightnews.com that Dominican prospect Javier “El Abejon” Fortuna (20-0, 15 KOs) could face Patrick Hyland (27-0, 12 KOs) for the WBA featherweight “interim” title on the December 8 Pacquiao-Marquez card in Las Vegas.

Five days later, the WBA featherweight “regular” title will be contested between Nicholas Walters (21-0, 17 KOs) and Daulis Prescott (26-1, 19 KOs) in Jamaica. This is for the belt relinquished by Celestino Caballero.

Longtime champion Chris John (47-0-2, 22 KOs) will defend his WBA featherweight “super” title against Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo (44-0, 27 KOs) on November 9 in Singapore.

:wtf: :why:

His retirement didn’t last long. Former IBF light heavyweight champion Glen Johnson will face Commonwealth super middleweight champion George Groves on December 15 at London’s ExCeL Arena. Groves’ promoter Frank Warren confirmed today that Groves and the Jamaican-born Miami-based Johnson will feature as chief support on the multi-title card headlined by WBO world lightweight champion Ricky Burns.

Junior middleweight titleholder Cornelius Bundrage leaves Don King, signs with Golden Boy - ESPN

Now that he is signed, Bundrage, who made a name for himself as a contestant on the 2006 season of "The Contender" reality series, said he is looking for a big fight, and Golden Boy is deep in the 154-pound division. It promotes titleholder Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, contenders Erislandy Lara, James Kirkland and Alfredo Angulo. It also works closely with Miguel Cotto and pound-for-pound king and titleholder Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Like every fighter in and around the division, Bundrage would love a shot at Mayweather but he really has eyes for Alvarez.

"You know who I was looking for -- he got red hair and he looks like Woody Woodpecker," Bundrage said. "I want Canelo. I don't think that Canelo wants to fight me. He would rather fight Floyd, a bigger fight and a smaller guy. But that's the fight I want."

Bundrage said Golden Boy told him his next fight would be in January or February so he could get a fight in before his mandatory defense with Gabriel Rosado is due.

Any chance Rosado stops him? :mjpls:

Big fights, big money at Barclays Center
October, 17, 2012
OCT 17
5:45
PM ET
By Dan Rafael | ESPN.com

The newly opened Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., will host what is supposed to be the first of many regular boxing shows over the coming years on Saturday night (Showtime, 8 ET/PT plus preliminaries on Showtime Extreme at 7 p.m.).

Golden Boy Promotions has an exclusive deal with the building to provide those cards. The first one will feature four world title bouts – the first time there will be a world title bout in Brooklyn since 1931.

This card doesn’t come cheap. Showtime is paying Golden Boy -- its virtually exclusive fight provider -- big money to put on the card. Based on the purses, Showtime is likely putting up in the $4 million range to televise the card, a huge amount these days for a premium cable card.

Without further adieu, the purses for the entire show, as per the New York State Athletic Commission:

• Junior welterweight titlist Danny Garcia $1 million with challenger and former titlist Erik Morales getting $300,000.

• Welterweight titlist Paulie Malignaggi $350,000 and challenger Pablo Cesar Cano $150,000.

• Middleweight titlist Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam $400,000 and challenger “Kid Chocolate” Peter Quillin $150,000.

• Welterweight titlist Randall Bailey $500,000 and challenger and former junior welterweight titlist Devon Alexander $600,000.

• Middleweight Daniel Jacobs $15,000 and opponent Josh Luteran $11,000. (This is the main bout on Showtime Extreme.)

• Also on the card: welterweight Dmitriy Salita ($10,000) vs. Brandon Hoskins ($10,000); former welterweight titlist Luis Collazo ($15,000) vs. Steve Upsher ($8,000); junior middleweight Eddie Gomez ($5,000) vs. Saul Benitez ($3,000); junior middleweight Boyd Melson ($2,000) vs. Jason Thompson ($2,500).

That’s a grand total of $3,531,500 for the purses on the show, which has many other expenses as well.

:leon: reads like a ppv show, even a bit more

canelo asked shaefer to get him martinez for may 4th

Canelo Would Love To Face Sergio Martinez on May 4
By Miguel Rivera

Mexico's Saul "Canelo" Alvarez has asked Golden Boy Promotions for a fight with Argentine boxer Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez. Canelo, the WBC's champion at junior middleweight, set the date of May 4 for his next fight. Martinez has the WBC's title at 160-pounds, but doesn't have a problem with moving down in weight.

There are three fighters on Canelo's list, with the two others being Miguel Cotto and Floyd Mayweather Jr. Canelo says that he asked Golden Boy's President, Oscar De La Hoya, to speak with Lou DiBella, the promoter of Martinez.

"We had a meeting with people of Golden Boy Promotions and we agreed that our next fight is on May 4. The first option is Maravilla Martinez," explained Canelo (41-0-1, 30 KOs).

The same night that Canelo destroyed Josesito Lopez, "Maravilla" (50-2-2, 28 KOs) reclaimed his title with a decision
win over Canelo's countryman Julio Cesar Chavez Jr
