It´s not his fault that the divisions where he competed at weren´t that strong when he competed in them so criticizing him over the names he has beaten is mindless

I agree


But at the same time, you gotta expect him to receive that criticism in these type of discussions. You have those fans who are selling him as “that nygga,” but then you see the opposing side say “ yeah he’s nice, but who has he beaten?”


Personally, I’m still waiting on that one fight where I can say I’m really sold on him.

by round 3 whitaker was turning chavez a lot. chavez was trying so hard to cut the ring and whitaker was just disappearing.

Interesting watch...Whitaker turned him to the right with accustomed ease. First few rounds..Chavez was like a bulldog but he definitely reached a point of frustration...Whitaker outworked him, fought him better on the inside, nullified his left hook, and was landing often while being followed.

Chavez was great and all but 2 of the most egregious results I saw in boxing connected to him.

First when Meldrick Taylor was robbed of a clear win and Chavez won by that bogus stoppage, few more unjust things, that’s a Taylor win in my books don’t care about the official result, 2 seconds were left.

And the other one is this, got his head boxed off by Pea and got gifted a draw.

if it went to the cards..taylor would have won a split decision

but regardless he still took too much punishment from chavez sr and would have been ruined either way

Idc how he looked, stopping a fight when a fighter gets KD the first time and he gets up and there’s only like 2-3 seconds left is a disgrace especially if the said fighter is ahead on the cards.

No I didn’t see the HBO special but doubt it could change my opinion on this anyhow
