nah I think he's just adding more knowledge to his skillset. His jiu jitsu is great and he ptobably has the best takedown defense in mma history but his stand up needs workHe starts a boxing career?

yeah but boxing =/= striking in MMA
in boxing you learn put you whole body mass or almost behind a punch your hips and shoulders rotate, in MMA that's not possible for them because of the takedown danger
maybe he doesn't care if he gets taken down because he is good at BJJ?

oh yeah but a ton of boxing principles angles etc can be used in mma. Got guys like cody garbrandt mcgregor stipe are champs and have used their boxing background to great effect in mma.yeah but boxing =/= striking in MMA

With aldo his bjj is good but he is ridiculously strong and hard to takedown. Like no one could keep him there

he's in a weird spot...
I really doN't expect a 22 yrs old still shaping fighter to go and jump at a Loma fight but on the other hand he's already a champion, elite level in his division so what's really left for him if not those level of guys?
He should just say Floyd decides about his matchups or that he's still very young that would be kinda okay, but talking about Loma not being a draw is a bad look
