Joshua/Wlad was a bigger fight than Canelo/Golovkin will be, so this is facts, but only because the UK/European market. :jbhmm:

Don't think there's any chance of them doing bigger numbers in the US market.

A big HW fight > a big whatever else division fight:manny:

Casuals LOVE Heavyweights and so does the Boxing media. With the correct promotion, which they would have, an undefeated Anthony Joshua vs an undefeated Deontay Wilder fight would sell out any market and do great numbers on PPV. You're saying the UK/European market, but forgetting if it wasn't for Mexico, Canelo's #'s wouldn't be where they are either....so we cant dismiss Joshua's fanbase if we aint dismissing Canelo's.:ld:

Plus, I wanna see that fight more than Canelo/GGG anyways. I don't think Canelo/GGG will live up to the hype:yeshrug:

Absolutely.

This fight isn't big the US right now :manny:

Wilder needs a headline worthy win over here and Joshua needs a few exhibitions in our market to drum up interest. They'd sell over a mil PPVs in the UK and fill up Wembley. Not much more than just another big-ish fight in our market, at that Swift/Thurman or Kovalev/Ward level. Canelo-JCCjr probably just did a mil. No reason to think Canelo-GGG doesn't do the same or more.

You really think Wilder/Joshua could move a million US buys at this point in time? :jbhmm:

they could but as you said they gotta build it up in the US..meaning joshua comes over for at least 1 title defense and Wilder faces a significant heavyweight and wins convincingly

Vegas or wembley. But wembley would mean a crazy buzz joy and hype.
Vegas is for traditional and historical purposes.

Yeah, we're Wilder/Parker or Wilder/Wlad then Joshua/Anybody in the US away from this being a proper global blockbuster, but right now the only way they do bigger numbers, make more money than Canelo/GGG is in the UK.

Which, btw, is why I'm perfectly okay with Joshua/Wilder not happening just yet. That fight has absolutely megafight potential here in the US, I think everyone involved owes it to themselves to make it happen. They need about a year set-up fights and build, though. Joshua absolutely doesn't need to be fighting Whyte again, though :scust: Fury, Parker, Ortiz or run it back with Wlad. He got too many legit options for that.

hell even wilder and fury...as long as fury still has lineal claim..he is still significant and fury has already fought in the US

Yeah, that's how you should feel looking at your posts dismissing the weight breh:heh:

There's a reason why Chavez moved up to Light Heavyweight....and it wasn't because he was looking for a challenge:heh:
Your not giving me the benefit of the doubt... Chavez has always blown up in weight, looked like skelator on the weigh in and filled up into a tank the next day.

Besides that, even if the fight was at 168 I believe the outcome would have been the same.. Chavez will never be the fighter he was pre Martinez.. I thought since this was a huge fight for him he would go back to that and more but it's never going to happen.

They may not hit 1 million buys, but Joshua vs Wilder would be a bigger fight amongst US casuals imo bc they are both KO artists, who are HWs and undefeated.

Why would I give you the benefit of the doubt when we repeatedly told you, both @krackdagawd and I, that Chavez would be drained and have nothing for Canelo?:jbhmm:

You denied that would happen......but it unfolded 100% like we told you it would........but now you're asking for the "benefit of the doubt"?:dwillhuh:

You were just wrong.:manny:

There was no doubt of what was going to happen when you're asking a fighter who struggles to make HIGHER weights, which is why he moved all the way up to Light Heavyweight, to make a weight he hasn't made in 5 years:heh:

But that's not a bigger fight, family :manny: Wilder/Joshua needs some elbow grease before it can outdo Canelo/GGG over here.

Sounds like you're going strictly off PPV numbers while forgetting that Canelo himself is the draw (due to his Mexican fanbase).....so answer this:

Was Andre Ward vs Sergey Kovalev (160k buys) a bigger fight than Canelo Alvarez vs Amir Khan (600k buys)?:mjpls:
