That dude took Roman Gonzalez' best shots and was smiling like he was getting a 3 course rat soup meal :damn:

- King Sor

Started from the bottom, now he’s here. WBC junior bantamweight Srisaket Sor Rungvisai literally came from the gutter to score a massive upset of Roman Gonzalez, who was widely regarded as the number one pound-for-pound fighter in boxing.

With that win Sor Rungvisai immediately became a national hero for his native Thailand which comes with it’s own set of perks — like a job-in-waiting and a meet-and-greet with Thailand’s prime minister, Prayut Chan-o-cha, as reported by RingTV.

“It is very special for me,” Srisaket told RingTV.com through his promoter, Thainchai Pisitwuttinan of Nakornloung Promotions. “I am very proud to be recognized for my achievement from the Prime Minister. It is a great honor for me and my family.”

Specifically, one of Sor Rungvisai’s new benefits will be place in high society where he will become a sergeant in the Thai police force. That won’t at all interfere with his ongoing boxing career, but it will prove plenty beneficial once that chapter comes to a close. Sor Rungvisai explains how his life has taken a dramatic turn for the better since knocking off the P4P king:

“Everything changed from the moment I touched Thailand soil,” he explained. Since it was such a historical victory, we have been receiving a lot of attention and support from the public and all media.

“Not too long ago, I was a garbage collector searching for food from the garbage on difficult days, but I fought my way to be the world champion through countless hours in the gym. I hope I was able to set an example to the youth that we can change our destiny through hard work and determination.”

Sor Rungvisai goes on to reiterate how proud he is to have beaten the best boxer in the world and to have proven that Thailand is a nation of warriors. Now Sor Rungvisai’s handlers will look for new opportunities in the U.S. for their fighter — where he should have more opportunities following a high profile win. Certainly a rematch with Roman Gonzalez will be in the cards, which would be another treat for boxing fans.

LSC hasn't ever even been KD in a fight yet (that I've seen), gets hit flush over and over, and just smiles through his mouthpiece while still coming forward. Let's see if Valdez really wants to go to war with LSC, because LSC is going to bring the fight up out of him.......and is better than Marriaga who had Valdez going life and death with exchanges himself:yeshrug:

Lucas Matthysse is Eager To Get His Hands on Manny Pacquiao

By Miguel Rivera

This coming Saturday night, Argentinean Lucas "The Machine" Matthysse will make his debut within the welterweight division and if he succeeds, he hopes to get a crack at WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao.

On May 6th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas Matthysse, who left behind the junior welterweight division and the problems it gave him, will face American Emmanuel "Tranzformer" Taylor as part of the HBO Pay-Per-View undercard to the all-Mexican showdown between Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Julio César Chávez Jr.

"In my last four fights, I had a hard time getting down to super lightweight," Matthysse told ESPN Deportes.

Matthysse (37-4, 34 KOs) will be stepping in the ring for the first time in just under two years. The fight with Taylor, a native of Maryland, will be scheduled 12-round with the World Boxing Organization international title at stake, and the Intercontinental title recognized by the World Boxing Association.

"It's a good opportunity to show myself in a position that will have a very large audience, because the headliners are two good Mexican boxers," said Matthysse said.

"In this welterweight division there are a lot more interesting opponents, including Manny Pacquiao, who at some point... if he can't find any opponents - I just want to say that all they have to do is just call me and I'm ready to face him. I've made a good camp in Indio, California, with Joel Diaz."

The last time Matthysse saw action was in October of 2015, when he was shockingly stopped by Viktor Postol in a battle for the vacant WBC 140-pound title. Matthysse suffered a bad eye injury in that contest and needed several months of time to recover.

At that time of that loss, Matthysse was being seriously scouted as a possible opponent for Pacquiao, who defends the WBO welterweight title on July 1 against Jeff Horn in Australia.

He changed his team around and hired experienced trainer Joel Diaz to head his corner, and the boxer moved his training camp from Argentina to Indio, California.

Pacquiao officially ends Matthysse's career for good.
:scust: I don't want to see that. Pacquiao makes easy work of Matthysse. Won't be surprised if Matthysse's next fight he gets upset. Dude may be shot and with his weaknesses 147 is probably going to be all wrong for him.

Im picking Emmanuel Taylor to beat Matthysse:mjlol:

BUT, if Matthysse wins, then his "resurgence" is gonna be short lived....Boxers with eye injuries like he suffered are automatically on a cash-out soon program:manny:

Tevin Farmer Suffers Injury During Win, Likely Out For Four Months
By Francisco Salazar

Junior lightweight contender Tevin Farmer was victorious Saturday night, but is likely out of action for the next several months.

Farmer won a 10 round unanimous decision over Arturo Reyes at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Farmer improves to 25-4-1, with 5 KOs, while Reyes drops to 19-8, with 5 KOs.

Promoter Lou DiBella told BoxingScene.com Farmer likely ruptured his right bicep during the fight.

“Tevin suffered the injury early in the fight,” said DiBella. “He had to fight with one hand from the third round on.”

Farmer would grind out a unanimous decision, winning by scores of 98-94, 97-93, and 96-94.

Asked how long Farmer could be out of action, DiBella responded, “He’s likely out at least four months. He’s likely going to have surgery right away.”

Saturday’s fight was a tune-up for Farmer while he is awaiting an opportunity to fight for a world title belt. The southpaw Farmer is ranked number three by the WBC and number six by the IBF.

Hopefully we get to find out! Valdez would be the best puncher LSC has faced, and LSC would be the best boxer Valdez has faced! For unification too
