"A tune-up fight on the way back...Adrien Broner...I think that would be a good tune-up fight for me...I think it makes a lot of sense...I think people would love to see that," stated former world champion Timothy Bradley, who talked about his future plans and called out multi-division former world champion Adrien Broner.

Amir Khan To Keith Thurman: Forget Porter, Fight Me! - Boxing News

Amir Khan To Keith Thurman: Forget Porter, Fight Me!

By Edward Chaykovsky

Amir Khan (31-4, 19 KOs) is looking to get a piece of WBA, WBC welterweight champion Keith Thurman (28-0, 22 KOs) in the fall.

Thurman unified the titles last month with a twelve round decision over Danny Garcia, who knocked Khan out in four rounds back in 2012.

The undefeated champion was ringside on Saturday night at the Barclays Center, as he watched Shawn Porter stop Andre Berto in a WBC final eliminator. The win by Porter would set up a rematch of last June's war with Thurman, who won the first meeting with a twelve round decision.

Khan issued a challenge to Thurman, by advising him to forget about Porter. The Bolton boxer wants a year-end battle with Thurman.

"Forget Porter, get your gloves on Keith Thurman. I want you at the end of this year. More money and bigger fight, ponytail," Khan stated on social media.

According to Khan, he returns to training camp on Monday.

Khan has been out of the ring since May of last year, when he moved up to a catch-weight of 155-pounds and was knocked out by Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in six rounds.

After that fight, Khan underwent hand surgery which kept him out of the ring for the remainder of the year.

At the start of 2017, there were discussions to stage a fight against countryman Kell Brook, holder of the IBF title. The two sides were far apart of the money and Brook instead agreed to take a fight against his mandatory challenger Errol Spence, which takes place on May 27th.

Then in February Khan and Manny Pacquiao announced on social media that they were facing each other on April 23 in UAE. That deal fell apart a few weeks later, when the investors were unable to provide proof of the promised $38 million to stage that event. Pacquiao has since signed a contract to defend his WBO welterweight belt against Jeff Horn on July 1.

Great fight but those scorecards were :scust: The right guy won but you could make a case for Marriaga winning. Valdez won't hold that belt for long IMO. His defense isn't good, he slaps with his right hand, & if someone can consistently go his body he'll get stopped.

I had Valdez winning 116-111.

Gave him rounds 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, & 12.
