from the home of coca-cola, i'm not referring to s
Kell Brook's last "mandatory" opponent was March 26st, 2016. According to the IBF, their Champions (any Champion outside of Heavyweight) must face his mandatory 1x every 9 months (1x every year for Heavyweights). As of the day after Christmas this year, Brook vs Spence is supposed to be made (going by IBF rules).

There's probably some kinda stipulation if the fighter gets injured

In one year, Lara went from being the make believe nikka to beat GGG to now headlining cards with Yuri fukking Foreman :mjlol:

boxing in 2016.....

What's worse is the stylists match up. Match Maersk can be the worst I boxing.

About Ward fight

Mike Tyson said, that I will destroy Ward. And I would but something interfered. Those are the mistakes I made preparing. And today I'm at ease with how it went, at ease with my defeat. If I got the W I would remain everything as it were thinking I did all the things correctly, but I didn't. If you look at my fights with Chilemba and Ward, you will see that I looked the same, whilist in the first 4 rounds against Ward I looked myself. Since the round 5 I turned into the other me[shyt verison in Chilemba fight]. The mistake I made during the training process was to stay up the mountains for too long. I needed three weeks, but stayed five. The first time I barely made it into the ring, I'd caught cold twice, did anthibiotics. Before the Ward fight I wasn't ill or anything, though it didn't help much. In the middle of the fifth round it was like my tyres were punctured and went flat - I lost my speed, I lost every aspect of my skills. It hit me psychologically, but what could I do? I fought with nothing but my willpower.

About how to change

Filter everything that I need and dump everything that I don't need. Maybe add someone into my team. I've already started the talks with some of the specialists whom give me advice, whom might be useful for me and the career ahead. It's gonna be like a second breath. I'm really not happy nor even satisfied with how the year went for me. I started good destroying Pascal but then I've had two horrible fights. Though I beat Chilemba I didn't feel like a winner, I was upset, I felt like I've lost.

About training and coaches

I've never used practics and tactics of US coaches; if I gotta be honest, they're all zeroes over there. Some think about them like they're the best. These some are wrong. They take a towel, put it over the shoulder and think they're trainers. You got to be a teacher. Maybe I didn't go to college all that long but I learned some about teaching there and I learned some while having my boxing career. You got to understand what amount of training can one sustain up the mountains or after the time zone change. Not everyone is a terminator but every other condition coach thinks they are and they train them the same way not even thinking about one's limits and possibilities or any other factors affecting the training.

About possible work with Khromov[famous russian amateur trainer, head trainer of 1996,2000,2004 olympic teams]

I would love to talk to him, listen to his opinion, maybe have his advice. Or maybe he could agree to being one my coaches. I wouldn't mind. He's a great trainer even though he trains amateurs. If I got to be honest, he is a really good coach.

taken there: Сергей Ковалев: Как ни странно, но я рад, что пришло поражение

Kovalev: Golovkin-Canelo is 50-50, Canelo Held His Own With GGG

By Alexander Gordopolov

The biggest fight in boxing is still being negotiated for next September. Golden Boy Promotions and K2 Promotions are still working out the terms for an HBO Pay-Per-View fight between IBF, WBC, WBA, IBO middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (36-0, 33KOs) and Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (48-1-1, 34KOs).

Former light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev was at one time a training stablemate with Golovkin. They used to train side by side with coach Abel Sanchez at Big Bear in California. Kovalev would eventually leave and hire the man who currently trains him, John David Jackson.

Kovalev was also present when Golovkin and Canelo traded punches during a sparring session.

In the opinion of Kovalev, the fight is very even and he felt Canelo held his won against Golovkin, and Olympic silver medal winner with a very impressive amateur record.

"Golovkin is a real threat, but Canelo is also good. My bet on this fight - it's 50-50. If the fight takes place, it will go the entire distance, and there will probably be a war of intelligence. In other words, it's going to be a chess match," Kovalev said.

"I can tell you that when I trained in Big Bear, I can remember watching Golovkin and Alvarez sparring. I worked there for a year and half in that gym, where Gennady had been staying as well. We trained together. So I've seen the sparring between Golovkin and Alvarez. They were both very competitive. Neither one was inferior to the other. As far as what happens in the present - it really all depends. Gennady tends to have shorter fights, as he quickly destroys his opponents. And Alvarez tends to go a lot longer in his fights, but his opponents are stronger than those of Gennady."
