I would have preferred Diaz as an opponent but let's be real here it is not like the choice was Adrien Broner, Mikey Garcia and John Molina. Diaz wasn't going to move the dial in terms of this being a big fight. Most people would give the same amount of fukks about Crawford/Diaz as they do Crawford/Molina despite Diaz being guaranteed to be a tougher fight.Felix Diaz is advised by Allah Haymon (Imam too iirc)...a fight vs Crawford on HBO would've also thawed the ice too.
And after the way Imam got KTFO he would be less impressive to me than Molina's mediocre self until he does something to redeem himself in the ring more impressive than beating Wilfred fukking Acuna. Imam need to run that back with Granados (as embarrasing as that is) before his name can be tossed around as an impressive opponent for anybody.
So basically all of Crawford's choices were meh to begin with. Where is the problem.
This is not optimal but its also not defending the world heavyweight title against a part-time English teacher level of bullshyt matchmaking either.
