Jermell Charlo reveals Canelo Alvarez talks for 2016/17

New World Boxing Council super welterweight champion Jermell Charlo, who TKO'd John Jackson at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, now has his sights firmly set on Saul "Canelo" Alvarez

Twin Jermell is undefeated. His record is 28-0, with 13 KO's. In a conference call to the WBC weekly press conference, Jermell said: "I've always wanted to fight Canelo, and it would be great if it happens.

We've been talking with Golden Boy. It could happen this year or the beginning of next year. Canelo is young, strong and improving all of the time."

Jermell said he'd apologized to John Jackson's father, the great Julian "Hawk" Jackson for pre-contest comments which he regrets.

Now he's champion Jermell says: "Everyone wants to take my belt, so I must be sharper and better!”

Yo I actually had to do work today and I'm reading this BS, that Lara wouldn't far and away be 97g's best win? Stevens or Roasdo or Lemieux? :scusthov: can't believe I'm reading this shyt.

Where was that said in the post you quoted breh?:dwillhuh:

Lara's fast, has a long reach, southpaw, good jab - if he's throwing it instead of just holding it there, obviously good footwork, and can be 'slick'. BUT lara ain't got the heart or the chin so he'd probably pot shot and steal a few early rounds until he started getting hit like nelo. The long reach and good jab make him a viable option to push it past 8rds. Would easily be golovkins best win

Beating Lateral doesn't improve his standing in the sport 1 bit though breh. GGG is already considered the #1 fighter from 154-168 with David Lemieux as his best win and you don't even believe Lateral can beat him.

Beating Lateral, who would be something like a +500 underdog and is unknown to the public, doesn't improve GGG's standing amongst hardcore fans neither because all you're saying even in your scouting report for the fight is:

"The long reach and good jab make him a viable option to push it past 8rds":dead:

We only looking for Lateral to make it past 8 rounds and then it's a morale W for him?:heh:

Lateral should be the last pick if BJS, Jacobs, Eubanks, Lee, Quillin, JCC Jr, or Ramirez aren't available imo.

Lara actually has been more stationary his last couple of fights, imo.

alvarez being heavy footed and needing to set his feet to throw punches was shown a lot of movement. that makes sense to me. i dont think he was over moving whatever that means. i think he was under punching.

vs alvarez one factor for why he was not throwing a lot of punches was that he was fighting a counter puncher. good counter punchers tend to make guys tentative to throw punches. thats what good counter punching does. so the fight turned into a mexican stand off. each guy was negating things each guy wanted to do. interesting situation. hard to score.

i think that its a different dynamic vs ggg. ggg is dangerous but being that he is a sharp shooter he is dangerous to ggg too.

Go back and watch his fight against Ouma? I think breh's name is. That is a way to beat triple ggg. I agree he's not hypejob, and is the real deal with the skills, despite being overrated.

Your talk about ggg a side over lara b side is irrelevant b.c lara would fight him in kazakhstkan at 160 on hbo.
Lara/ggg will never happen though.

I think Lateral will overprice himself. He just made $750k to fight Vanes....but that was on Showtime. No way will HBO give him $1+ million to face GGG with the type of budget they are running on, which means it wouldn't happen or it would be another squash match on PPV that NOBODY who claims GGG should fight him would be able to complain about.

Is lemiux the only fight where ggg won a title? or am i trippin

He won the WBC "interim" Middleweight Championship by beating Marco Antonio Rubio and the WBA by beating the dude who was ranked #13.

Depends on which lara shows up. He will need to let his hands go in order to win. Judges will not give him the decision if he pulls a alvarez performance

And in that 1st gif, that's exactly how I imagine the fight to go....I don't believe Lara has the power to even make GGG flinch, just like Wade nor Monroe or Lemieux, which means he will get walked through and down imo. He will be forced to go "Lateral" because he's not good at taking fire power in return.

Remember, that's how Canelo turned him into Lara Armstrong and put him on his bike....ripping body shots underneath Lara's jabs and straights.

no they wont. but i think that its a different dynamic. another southpaw kassim ouma hit ggg with a lot of punches. ggg is dangerous but he is someone you can hit. lara is someone that can catch you and can hurt you at any moment. so thats a fight with suspense in every moment. fun match up.
