Did he get screwed against De La Hoya?

Real Talk, Pea/Oscar is one of those fights you gotta see for yourself breh.

Fight was close and it was one of those that really could go either way depending on your scoring preference Personally I felt that Pea needed more offense in that fight. His defense was awesome and he had Oscar looking straight clumsy at times, but defense is only one part of the game. You're not going to get the W against a cash cow with mostly jabs and defense. You gotta let everything go.
Big Sweet Pea fan, but I can't say he got robbed in that one.

Pac/Bradley 1 and Burton/Augustus were actual robberies.

Payano/Warren 1 was an actual robbery as well:to:

Hopefully Rau'Shee gets that title in about 3 weeks that he should've had the 1st time:mjcry:

WBO 154lb champ Liam Smith targets Kell Brook | Boxing News

WBO junior middleweight champion Liam Smith (22-0-1, 12 KOs) has called for a domestic showdown with IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (36-0, 25 KOs) after he’s dealt with Predrag Radosevic on June 4 in Liverpool in the third defense of his world title. “I’m going to be brutally honest,” said Smith. “Kell Brook is the fight I want. I would bite your hand off for that fight. Kell is a nice lad and I get on with him but it’s a fight that people would love to see.

“Frank [Warren] made an offer and started the ball rolling. If they were keen on that fight they could have easily had it. Don’t talk about dominating 147lbs and 154lbs and then fight an opponent at 140lbs. If you’re going do it do it and fight one of the champions at 147lbs or 154lbs!”

Watch Brook take this fight instead of a Spence fight

i was the only that was gung ho about that card (surprising how that happens considering my views on PBC)..i had to prod @Newzz to create the thread for that card lol..its a top 3 PBC card for sure and the best of the PBC on Bounce cards that have aired IMO

I think I had pea winning 7-5 over Oscar.

pea got robbed vs Chavez the biggest though.

Pea looked better against Chavez for sure and I thought he deserved that victory too. That was more of a robbery.

Oscar/Pea was more like Swift/Herrera to me. The B side guy wins the event, while the A side gets the hometown decision in a competitive fight. Cats will make a case for both winning though.
That shyt happens a lot actually. Too much really.

I've dropped my thoughts here on DLH/Sweet Pea. @malbaker86 you should definitely watch it and decide for yourself. It was a great fight. Even watching a past it Whitaker was :ohlawd:

Had the day off today, not much to do this morning. So I decided to rewatch this controversial fight, and score it myself

Round 1: 10-9 Whitaker
Round 2: 10-9 DLH
Round 3: 10-8 DLH (Whitaker got a point taken away due to that stupid WBC rule for the accidental headbutt)
Round 4: 10-9 Whitaker
Round 5: 10-9 Whitaker
Round 6: 10-9 Whitaker
Round 7: 10-9 DLH
Round 8: 10-9 DLH
Round 9: 10-8 Whitaker
Round 10: 10-9 Whitaker
Round 11: 10-9 Whitaker
Round 12: 10-9 DLH

Final score: 114-112 Whitaker

Was a close fight, but Sweat Pea edged it, winning most of the rounds IMO. DLH had his moments and hit Pernell with some good hard shots, but had too but ineffective aggression. Throwing 10 punches at once, while only landing 2 or 3. And of course Lampley there sucking him off :snoop: Thank God Merchant and Jones where there to keep him in check for the most part. Pernell's jab wasn't as effective as it usually was. Sweat Pea always had an A1 jab, put this time it seem off, and his punches were wider than usual. Of course this is an older Pernell Whitaker. I think prime Sweat Pea would've had an easier time with DLH (at least this version of Oscar anyways).

I think we should make threads revisiting controversial fights and explain who we think won, posting our own scorecards. I always like to see how other folks judge fights

Yup! Probably the most complete fighter I've ever seen. He's the only other LW in history I believe that could beat a prime Duran
Funny thing is that even Pernell Whitaker himself said that although he was best at LW, he'd rather face Duran at the higher weight classes because he felt he had a better chance of beating him at 140 or 147 than at 135.

I guess that's just a testament to Duran's greatness
