Going in Chaves was looked at as a step up fight for Thurman since he wasn't fighting another faded name that he could overwhelm with power. He was facing another puncher who could hurt him.

I only go with what my eyes see in the ring. If you think Wade and Chaves are on the same level, than you have a right to that opinion just like I have a right to disagree.
Even in losing efforts, I haven't seen Chaves look as bad as Wade has looked in his wins.

Chaves is a legit C+/B- level cat. If he would have gotten that official win over Rios he'd prolly be held in higher regard, but the ref was a dikk.
Wade with his struggle ass self is like D+/C- level. fukking shot Jermain Taylor looked better against Soliman.
Chaves is supposed to be some bum ass nikka, but cats in here were actually looking forward to him fighting Brook. Like nikkas gotta be consistent with they shyt. Bradley is supposed to be this big bad top level boxer but he struggled hard as fukk with Chaves. Yeah he should have won and not gotten the draw, but nikkas is acting like Tim won 10 rounds to 2 or some lop sided shyt.
Stiverne is Wilder's best win and that nikka is on the same level as Chaves. It's just that he's in a less competitive division and he's been the A side more in fights so he'll get a different look than a guy like Chaves coming from another country as the B side.
Official wins are important, but it shouldn't be the only thing we use to evaluate fighters because politics can affect that sometimes.
I know I'm a Thurman stan, but I dont think I'm overrating Chaves at all. I'm sure more positive things have been said here about Chaves than there has been said for Wade.
