Valdez Title Fight Under Consideration For Crawford-Postol PPV

By Steve Kim

After his eye-opening performance on April 9th on the Manny Pacquiao-Tim Bradley pay-per-view undercard - where he stopped former IBF featherweight world champion Evgeny Gradovich in four rounds, undefeated 126-pound contender Oscar Valdez could be on the Terence Crawford-Viktor Postol HBO Pay-Per-View card in the summer.

On June 11th in New York City, the current WBO 126-pound titlist Vasyl Lomachenko will be moving up in weight to face Rocky Martinez presumably for his WBO super featherweight belt.

The move by Lomachenko would likely free up the WBO featherweight crown, which in turn would allow Valdez to fight for the vacant belt.

Valdez's manager, Frank Espinoza, told BoxingScene.com - "Right now we've been working with Top Rank with the possibility of coming back on July 23rd for the vacant (WBO) title. Valdez is on board, that's his dream, he wants to fight for the world title. It's just about negotiating the terms for that date. If we can make it work, then we'll move forward."

Valdez (19-0, 17 KO's) is the top rated challenger by the WBO and ranked second is Matias Rueda (26-0, 23 KO's) of Argentina.

Beside it being a unification how is it not a bad fight? Vargas is suddenly good b/c he landed one punch on timmy and KO'd Sadam Ali? Nah not buying it.

Vargas won as the underdog...beat the shyt out of N stopped an undefeated Top 10 Ring ranked Welterweight

Muhfukkers were already crowning Ali N claiming he beats this top guy he beats that top guy

Vargas is a Champ... You gotta put some respeck on his Name :manny:

I still think Postol is trash...but he won by KO against a top guy N now he's champ...how would I look saying

"what's the big deal with Crawford Postol :martin:"

nikkas would kill me :russ:

I give Postol his respeck... Vargas deserves the same :yeshrug:

breh im not a fan of vargas..never been..hell i think he should have got a few losses before the official one to timmy (josesito lopez for one :francis:)..but dude did his thing..seeing that Ali KO live was :ohlawd:...with that being said if that fight happens, brook wins that and takes jessie's belt away..if vargas pulled the upset he'd be the number 1 welter barnone over thurman and swift
