Was there a 3 knockdown rule? Ref called called it off the third time with no count right as the round bell rang.

Not that it was a bad stoppage, his legs were bad...but that would have given him extra time to recover and test out the beginning of the 3rd round.

i agree..but with PBC on ESPN they need to mirror it with how FNF was..giving us fights like 6-8 months of the year consistently every Friday (or the rare Wed/Thurs card if a Friday was no good)..this would improve on what PBC on Bounce was doing (barring that Scott vs Thompson fight :scust:) and PBC on FS1 (which does it but nobody is watching due to various factors)..would take care of the roster problem and whatnot getting them consistent fights
I really don't have any beef with PBC, but if I do have any it is this. If they paired down the networks and streamlined their broadcasts the presentation would be great. And you are right about ESPN...Dan gets asked every chat if FNF is coming back. Fans are upset that PBC has ruined it...they have great prospects, they could easily make a great FNF themselves.

I see a huge PBC roster with a lot of the top fighters. They probably have the deepest roster of anyone, more than Showtime has under contract and HBO, but yet I feel like PBC is more on equal footing. My expectation was PBC would leverage the quantity of quality fighters they have. With the top fighters they have if they kept them active they literally could be putting on fights every weekend with a top fighter (even if they weren't matched with each other), yet it seems like we get a lot of fights with their mediocre talent and the top guys sit on the bench and aren't as active as they should be.

Just going off their website they have: Garcia, Khan, Broner, Wilder, Figgy, Charlo's, Lara, Porter, Thurman, LSC, Jacobs, Quillin, GRJ, Spence, Beterbiev, Stevenson, and plenty more (you get the picture) if all these guys were fighting 2-3 times a year, they would have desirable cards every weekend.

I think that is what most PBC supporters overlook. When they are criticized it isn't because they are bad, they arent; it is because they could be so much more. I remember we talked how we thought 2016 was maybe the year they unleashed all the fights they could make or just get guys more active, instead it seems more status quo.

Legacies? What do they really mean? I’m a big believer in what you are now. I’m not too interested in leaving a legacy, because that means you’re a has-been. Not even boxing really means a lot to me? Otherwise I wouldn’t have gone back into training having eat every pie in Lancashire, or drunk every pint in the UK.

I hate boxing. I hate it, I hate training, I hate speaking to all of you idiots. I would rather be at home eating sweets and chocolate with my kids. I hate boxing. But I am too f***** good at it to stop. It’s easy money, knocking over these bums.

I hope Klitschko has the best camp and I hope he knocks me into next week. Because then I can retire happy and go on holiday until I’m dead. And then write on my gravestone that I was the heavyweight champion of the world. Because we all get old, and life is a b*tch until you marry one.
:skip:
The Klitschko family are like the Trojans. They think that they’re unbeatable, but they’re not. Do they enjoy it? I don’t know. Do I? No, but I do it to get paid and provide a good future for my kids. People do these sports for different reasons. It’s not always a money think, as Klitschko proves. It’s something that he loves to do, and he’s capable of anything, even as a rich 40-year-old. He’s a dangerous opponent, because I don’t live like a champion. I’m not an athlete. Don’t call me an athlete. I mean look at this, does this look like a fighters body?

Look at this Klitschko (at this point Fury is grabbing his admittedly large gut and waving it at Klitschko). This beat you. Shame on you! You were beaten by a fat man. Boom!

Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko clashed in an explosive and, at times, surreal press conference today, with Fury stripping down to taunt his rival for "being beaten by a fat man", and Klitschko frequently accused by more than one journalist of cheating throughout his career.

The highlights of the dramatic event included:

  • Klitschko finishing his closing statements, just a couple of moments after blasting Fury's character and calling him 'classless', by telling his rival to 'f*** off'.
  • Klitschko telling Fury that he has not represented the sport of boxing at all well, and quoting Fury's controversial comments that 'the best place for a woman is in the kitchen or on her back', and that 'homosexuals are comparable to paedophiles'. 'Is that where he thinks Elton John and the Queen belong?' he asked.
  • Klitschko was also dogged by persistent comments from assembled journalists that he is a cheat, and that he won his titles by cheating. He refused to answer these questions, much to Fury’s delight.

  • Fury bringing up Klitschko’s ‘mental weakness’ on numerous occasions, and urging the Manchester crowd to create a hostile environment for ‘this foreigner who wants to come over here and steal my belts’.

  • An extraordinary Chris Eubank-esque outburst during which Fury discussed how he ‘hates boxing’. ‘I hate boxing, I hate it, I hate training, but I am too f****** good at it to stop. I hope Klitschko knocks me out because I can then retire and go on holiday,’ he said.

  • Yet another sexist controversy. “Life is b**** until you marry one,” Fury laughed at one point.

  • Klitschko refusing to confirm or deny whether this would be his last professional fight. "Question denied," was his enigmatic response.

  • I’m a performing monkey. I am a joke. I am made out to be the villain and the outcast. But people like to see it. If I did s*** interviews, then nobody tunes in, and none of you get paid. I do it for all of you, so that you all get paid.
  • Klitscho has found his b******! He can make all of his excuses – ‘ooo, my fingernails broke!’ – but he was beaten on his own turf. He was whooped. He landed about four shots in twelve rounds. He is a hall of dogs*** fighter in my eyes. If he can’t land a punch on a fat gippo, he must be s***.

He has never fought a man with a pair of b******. When Team Fury rolled up, he knew he couldn’t get away with his cheating antics. When it is fair and square, he can’t win.

The outcome will be different. I will knock him out. No 40-year-old born from his mother can beat Tyson Fury. :dead:So there we go. Boom.
