somebody fill me in i missed this shyt :to:

how good did trout look? how does he fair against the rest of the 154 pounders?
was the fight that one sided?

First 2 rounds - Trout was the much better boxer and making a fool of Cotto
Rounds 3-6 - All Cotto, he was figuring Trout out showing why he's been one of the p4p best, dominating him and easily won the next 4 rounds and was on his way to an easy win

but......

Rounds 7-8 - Trout seemed revitalized and give it his best effort, had Cotto backing off.. probably split the rounds

boxing takes its toll........

Rounds 9-12 - It seems Cotto's career and aspirations finally caught up to him. It seemed he got tired and less willing to exchange, all of a sudden Cotto went from the stronger fighter backing Trout up to second best in all exchanges and a lower workrate. Trout was only too happy to exploit this sudden dip in form, went on the offensive and just threw plenty of punches while Cotto couldn't respond. The fact that he was the bigger and stronger fighter wouldn't have made a difference to a stronger Cotto in his prime, but he just didn't have a resopnse. Trout probably won all the last 4 rounds to have him win 7-5. Personally I had Cotto winning the last round to have it a draw.

Seems from twitter most of the boxing writers had it 7-5 Trout and were surprised at the wide scores in favor of Trout when they fought it was gonna go the other way just cause they were in NY.

I maintain Cotto was gonna be screwed from the start with those types of ridiculous scores.

Trout dominated a smaller man who was clearly faded in stamina. Don't assume Canelo doesn't want it, you saw what Cotto was doing to him in the middle rounds, and Canelo hasn't been through all those wars and is just as strong.

It's been a ride with Cotto, first fight I saw of his was against Malignaggi in 2006 and I've been a fan of both of them for years.. kinda sad to see someone I've followed throughout my life finally lose against someone he wasn't supposed to. That's how you know he's done.

Miguel :salute: and thanks for the memories

Seeing Cotto make Mayweather bleed, made me respect that man.

He seem like a good dude. He ain't gonna go out like that tho. I'm sure he got one more fight in him.

:aicmon: If Canelo's not fighting Trout in May, it's because he's likely fighting someone better. Most likely Sergio.

Yeah...he's going from fighting 140-147 fighters at 154 to fighting the middleweight champion of the world :stopitslime:
