ive gone back to the old school and only use them tiny gloves with the thumbs out to hit the bags with instead of my big ass 16s.

i dont know why or when fighters started training in big foam gloves. back in the day nobody ever trained in big foam gloves. you cant make a true fist in those things and your punches bounce when you hit a bag. you never get good follow through. your punches are supposed to sink in when you hit a bag not bounce.

heres ezzard charles hitting a heavy bag.

go and check out any videos or search for any pictures of fighters like archie moore or sugar ray robinson or joe frazier in training. they never trained in a pair of gloves any bigger than that.

any of you guys that have a pair of big foam gloves can try taking some strong tape and taping the fist down into the heel of the palm and then taping over the thumb and going around a few times to secure it. now you dont have to squeeze your hand to make a fist. you get an automatic fist. thats the only way to get a true fist in those things.

in my experience these are the best bag gloves anybody can ever have.

they have some sort of synthetic horse hair padding in there. your punches sink and you dont have to squeeze your hand to make a true fist. your punches feel a lot faster and a lot stronger.

I have hand issues n always been told to go bigger could that have been doing more harm than good all these years
