Pull up :birdman:

nikkas see what it is man :sas1:

And we're PAYING for these trash match ups but nobody gotta problem with it. I wonder why :mjpls:
He's right but he's wrong.

After Verdejo almost knocked that last dude's neck off his shoulders, my immediate thought was about him stepping up his level of comp.

At the same time, I expect more prospect to take their time even more after watching Iman get smoked.

I get what he's saying, but Verdejo is being brought up the right way :manny:

I disagree with both of yall brehs:heh:

Verdejo's next fight will be his 20th professional fight. Imo, by your 20th professional fight, you should have already fought or IN your 20th fight be fighting a least a Top 25 opponent, another top prospect, a gatekeeper, or a former Champion in the division....Verdejo has done none of that.:yeshrug:

His next opponent is a random Brazilian who's undefeated yes, but the best opponent HE's beaten is currently ranked 111 in the world, he's only fought outside of Brazil 1x in 23 career fights, has never been on TV, and is ranked 101 in the world. Verdejo should be fighting better opps right now.:manny:

I watched Creed a few days back, Andre Ward couldn't even land a fight in that movie :russ:

When I saw Ward's character landed that title fight, a couple things came to mind. Either Ward's character was gonna win the fight or the fight was not gonna happen.

I came to that conclusion based on Holyfieds reason for declining a role in Rocky 5. Holyfield did not like the idea of his character losing to Tommy Gunn (Morrison), so he declined the role.

I could see Andre Ward on some similar shyt. Now, I don't think Ward would mind his character losing to Creed, because the actor that plays Creed is not a professional fighter. However, I don't think he would have his character lose to another character played by a professional boxer.

Eh, I always look at it on a case by case basis.

Some prospects are more ready than others. I think after your 25th fight you should start fighting better competition. I'll give Verdejo a couple more fights, and if it continues then I'll say something.

I don't have a problem with prospects being brought along slowly until they're ready. You don't wanna bring them along too quickly and have their career damaged because you threw them in before they were ready.

However there is a double standard, so I can see why J-Rock said what he said. I hold all prospects to the same standards.

The only thing I will say is that you don't hear Verdejo calling out fighters and having fans saying he should fight all these people. Like the homie @ChocolateGiddyUp said before: if you a young fighter calling out all these fighters and whatnot and yet you stay fighting jobbers, some people are gonna have a problem with that :manny:

Nah bruh I'm actually agreeing with you. I think it's time for him to step it up regardless if he's ready or not. We need to see what he's really made of. Is he worth being considered a top prospect or is he Imam and Harrison?

I'm just saying that based on what happened to those two, I can see a lot of these top young guns legit like :whoa:.

I don't think it's right but I definitely see it happening.
