These dudes live on another planet man 155 will be made easier by the guy who is 34 yrs old and has been 160 over 13 years vs the 24 yr old who fought there a few months ago. :russ:

Bout to bookmark this page I don't want to hear shyt about weight drained in regards to ggg vs Cotto or Canelo.

Pat has a point tho. If he's walking around at 180, why not just get back down to 160. That would be quicker and easier to get to as well as maintain.

What benefit does the bigger draw have to meet him at a weight he never fought before? Canelo can make 155 and still be okay according to Pat ggg makes that weight even easier shouldn't be a problem :manny:

Are we really comparing the metabolism of a damn near middle aged man vs a 24 yr old?

"Weight classes for a reason" isn't only about fighters moving up man. I think Canelo ggg is a 50/50 fight & I think Cotto loses to him but if it's at 155 I'll pick Canelo/Cotto over him all day.

Crawford Knew Postol Would Beat Matthysse, Wants Him

Posted by: Keith Idec on 10/22/2015 .

By Keith Idec

When asked about potential opponents, Terence Crawford mentioned Viktor Postol’s name second, right after Manny Pacquiao.

“It’d be good,” Crawford told BoxingScene.com regarding a fight against Postol. “It’d be for The Ring magazine belt, the lineal title.”

Postol was about a 3-1 underdog entering his fight against Argentine power puncher Lucas Matthysse, but the unbeaten Ukrainian out-boxed and dropped him, before eventually making Matthysse quit on one knee in the 10th round Oct. 3 at StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.

The undefeated Crawford felt all along that Postol (28-0, 12 KOs) would beat Matthysse (37-4, 34 KOs, 1 NC), so he wasn’t the least bit surprised when it happened in a HBO “Boxing After Dark” main event.

“He did good,” said Crawford, who, like Pacquiao and Postol, is promoted by Bob Arum’s Top Rank Inc. “He did what he was supposed to do. Being that Matthysse couldn’t handle the boxing abilities, he did what he was supposed to do.

“If you look at Matthysse’s record, you see that everybody that really boxed Matthysse, they beat him – instead of getting in the trenches and trading with him, for him to land big shots.”

Crawford (26-0, 18 KOs), a consensus top-10 fighter on most mythical pound-for-pound lists, is scheduled to return to the ring Saturday night in his native Omaha, Nebraska. The 28-year-old 140-pound champion will defend his WBO junior welterweight title against Montreal’s Dierry Jean (29-1, 20 KOs) in a 12-round main event at CenturyLink Center (HBO; 9:30 p.m. ET/PT).

:mjlol: you dont get it or you dont want to see it..canelo has almost 13 lbs to lose for this catchweight..which means most likely he walks around very high...prolly small cruiser...in contrast we had GGG who was within 5 lbs during his last 30 day weigh in with lemieux...one makes weight comfortably, the other is a known drainer who has fought MW catchweight since losing to Floyd...canelo would benefit greatly by coming in at 160 if he faced GGG and listen to his body....pulling a broner = setting stipulations and barely being able to meet them yourself leading to failure..thats how i see this (i.e. if canelo gets by cotto)

:dwillhuh: You're not getting it yourself breh:heh:

It's much easier to make 160 than it is 155. You using GGG vs Lemieux 30 day weights? Okay:ehh: But what about the fact that 30 days out from GGG vs Murray, just 2 fights before this one from last Saturday, GGG weighed in at a hefty 172lbs only 30 days out:sas1:

Undefeated RING No. 1-rated WBA middleweight titleholder Gennady Golovkin and British contender Martin Murray weighed 172 and 169 pounds one month away from their Feb. 21 clash in Monte Carlo, promoters Rodney Berman of Golden Gloves and Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions announced on Wednesday.

One month out: Gennady Golovkin 172, Martin Murray 169 - Ring TV

Or are we gonna pretend that didn't happen and GGG doesn't walk around much larger than they try and portray it on HBO:sas2:

You see Pat, GGG can try and fool his stans and the media....but we know the truth, which is why GGG and his team is adamant about him NOT fighting at 155:umad:

GGG might be 172, with only 30 days left to make 155, you better tell Gary Russell to let GGG use his sauna suit:mjlol:

Pat has a point tho. If he's walking around at 180, why not just get back down to 160. That would be quicker and easier to get to as well as maintain.

It's easier to make a weight that you're used to making...and Canelo has been making 155 over and over again for his last 4 fights (including this one against Cotto). GGG has only weighed as low as 158...and that was 4 years ago.:dead:

Cotto or Canelo will both be asking GGG to make it down to a weight he hasn't been in 4 years, and on top of that, lose an EXTRA 3 lbs as well....just cause they can demand it:wow:

Again, like I told Pat, it's a reason Team GGG is so adamant about NOT fighting that low. If it was so easy for him to make, they wouldn't have started their campaign against it:sas1:

Golovkin made it clear the other day, per BoxingScene.com's Radio Rahim, that he won't entertain a catch-weight for either Cotto or Canelo.

“I'm champion of 160, middleweight is my comfortable weight,” he said. “For what [reason would I do a catch-weight]? For business or for what? I'm a boxer. I'm the champion of the middleweight division.”

Canelo Rejects Fighting Golovkin, Unless at 155-Pounds

But unfortunately for him, the WBC President is already on the #Cartel's side with the statement of "anything under 160 is middleweight". That's all the WBC cares about. If Cotto/Canelo says meet me at 155, that's a Middleweight fight. GGG is just gonna have to make the weight or turn down the fight.:sas2:

Good. Meet us at 155 and we'll show GGG what "Mexican Style" REALLY is:demonic:

The look on GGG's face, when he walks out 1st to nothing but "Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!" from the same Mexican fanbase he has been pandering too over the last couple years, and then the Mexican Ric Flair is gonna come down in a glittering robe decorated in the colors of the Mexican flag, to nothing but deafening screams and chants of "Ca-nel-o! Ca-nel-o! Ca-nel-o!".....the look on GGG's face is gonna be priceless:banderas:

We gotta make sure we handle biz against Cotto first, but :whew: just the visual of this happening is :ohlawd: and :mjlol:

#CaneloCartel

:canelocartel:

ggg team tryna get mexican/rican fans like floyd did.

well hes gonna NEED nelo for that.

I think if the money is reallu talking he'll lose that extra weight but I think it would require him to stay around 170 while he's inactive. I still think GGG beats him tho. One thing that Canelo has yet to get a grip on are those moments where he just sits in the ringand chills out. I'm not saying Kirkland is a bum, but when Canelo was just sitting there chillin and shyt, James got in some good shots. If GGG is out there pumping that jab out like he did against Lemieux, Canelo might get busted up a lil bit.
