The fight he won the title in was basically against a "stay busy" caliber fighter though so to try and give him the same excuse to fight a dude like Theophane just doesn't work.
If Broner had fought a Crawford or GArcia level fighter to win that belt then I would have nothing to say about him pushing so hard to fight dude ranked in the 50s somewhere.

I think if your a recent champ, who has successfully defended your belt and your in the top 20 your a bit above a stay busy fighter! Thats just my opinion though it seems reasonable enough to be considered as a legitimate standard.

AB is gonna fight Theophane, beat him, add another W on his resume and keep it moving.


It IS a bad matchup and AB should only be defending his belt at the very least against people in the Top 10 of the WBA rankings. At the end of the day though, a win is a win, and 1 voluntary defense, coming off of fighting 2 straight former Champions (1 who was Top 5 RING ranked in the division above him, and the other who in his previous fight lost his belt) isn't any cause for concern

If anything the champ at 140 has more of an "obligation" to fight top opp then the beltless nikka in a new division

But it really doesn't matter cuz this is boxing...this shyt happens all the time...champ GRJ goin fight another TBA nikka...Swift fighting Ghost, Craw fighting Dierry Jean, AB fighting Theophane, Khan fought Algieri, One Time fought Collazo...etc etc etc

Yeah I know, Im just saying in general if your one of the 20 even 25 best fighters in your weight class in the world than your not really a stay busy fighter. Obviously there are exceptions to the rule
but even after losing to AB convincingly he still a top 20 fighter. Add to it if your a recent title holder who successfully defended your belt your well above a guy like Theophene whose basically
a really good sparring partner. Yet even hes still better than who some legends fought in there stay busy fights though.

Yep...fukk that. I used to go strictly by RING rankings, but when I see fan favorite Boxers getting passes to fight non-RING ranked opps by the Boxing media, we're left with no choice but to fight fire with fire

Floyd Mayweather's pricey car collection took a massive hit this week -- when a trailer transporting Floyd's Bentley and 2 Rolls Royce whips burned down to the ground ... TMZ Sports has learned.

We're told the truck was transporting Floyd's rides from Vegas to Miami when something went wrong just outside of Phoenix, Arizona on October 7th at 1:31 AM ... and the entire unit went up in flames.

You can see in the pics, the cars were burnt to a crisp -- including one of Floyd's custom Jeeps.

It's unclear how the fire started -- but Arizona State Troopers confirm the incident and say there were no injuries reported.

TMZ Sports contacted the transportation company and confirmed the cars were shipped through Obi Okeke at Fusion Luxury Motors -- Floyd's longtime car guy.

We reached out to Floyd and Okeke -- no comment from either one.
