Marquez's Promoter Eyes Mayweather Rematch, Brook

Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez has been out of the ring for more than a year and turns 42-years-old in August. The Mexican veteran has been out of the ring while dealing with knee problems. Many, like his trainer Nacho Beristain, are not expecting him to fight again, but Marquez has never actually announced his retirement. His promoter, Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions, says there is a still a chance that he might return to action. If he does return to action, Beltran sees plenty of options for his fighter and they have already received a number of offers.Because Marquez wants a welterweight title, Beltran expressed interest in two possibilities - WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. and IBF champion Kell Brook.

Marquez was dominated by Mayweather in 2009. He felt that he didn't get the proper training to properly become a welterweight, which was two divisions above his own, and he expressed anger a week ago about Mayweather's intentionally not coming in at the catch-weight of 144-pounds (Mayweather came in at 146).Right now we are looking for an opponent.

He will continue with his rehabilitation, but if he feels one hundred percent - we already have a range of offers, mainly aiming at the world welterweight title which he and his team have long been targeting. Betran told ESPN Deportes ;He has always spoken of the welterweight title, and there are Kell Brook and Floyd Mayweather. Obviously we would love to fight with Mayweather because while they fought each other already, it took place under very adverse conditions and now things would be different. But there is also a good chance that we'll face Brook, who is looking for a big fight in the United States. There are a number of options at the weigh
