p*ssy boy could of took the strap from little pillow fisted Bryd, which could of set up Lewis for the undisputed hw championship with all the straps on the line, still :mindblown: how Roy passed his opportunities up, he could have been set for 3 lives.

yup, i think he could've beaten byrd as well. shyt i wouldn't have mind to see roy fight toney at cruiserweight back then either.

But WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? did he have to go back to 175. i will never understand that, tarver must have really gotten under his skin.

Simply ego, Tarver could talk that shyt to touch Roy deep down and hurt his pride, and coupled with he gave Roy the worst beating in his life at that point, and the rumors that he ducked Tarver for years, to fight an old Tarver, know we now why, the fraud had to save face, his he couldn't go back to fighting cab drivers @175 with Tarver there, like he planned.

Roy had a superiority complex, he couldn't deal with someone near equal to him, he wanted to win all the time, he wanted no parts, of tough opponents or adversity, which is why he picked on and mocked cab drivers in the ring, he chose to duck the names, to keep winning against lesser opponents

SN: Even though I hated Roy, and made it acceptable to be ducking, laying the groundwork for Lewis, and Pacquiao, he had a hard on BHOP, unfortunately us fans always dont get to see the fights we want to see. Wishes HBO hold a conference with May and Pacquiao to see who's ducking who, but it's obvious HBO has been in on the charade with TR, and GB to a lesser degree

nikkka , who did roy duck? please bring names and don't say steve collins, dariusz michaealz, jirov, eubanks, or any of them euro/overseas guy.

i always felt that roy was bad at decision making and managing his career of not having the mega-fights but didn't duck anyone.

Who did Roy fight is the better question, I'll wait, he didn't start fighting names until he got his china smashed:youngsabo:

BHOP
Toney
Griffin is his next best name:comeon:

This man ducked a whole HW division after shutting out a champ there, he simply didnt want to fight those names, he chose lessor money fights to keep his unblemished record intact, pre tarver

the more HW fights i see in this era makes me appreciate the 90's so much more!!

the 90s was such a great era for heavies...good crop of champs and contenders and journeymen who on any given night would put up a great fight or upset....heavyweight era of today just makes me shake my head in disgust

The Klits most likely would have dominated that era anyway, so it's hard to gauge, most of the heavys today are either lazy, or the klits ducked with their politics and slave contracts

Did you not see Vitali dominate probably the best HW of all time and send him into a early retirement, people hate on the klits just cause, I hate them fukkers too but truth is truth. Head to Head the bring issues to the best of the best. They would have a field day with smaller HW like Tyson, and Holyfield

:skip:...i see we're on our :troll: grind again...you do realize wlad's first losses were from ross purrity and corrie sanders...cats who were your typical 90s contenders/journeymen..if he couldn't handle them how do you think he would handle 90s versions of bowe, holyfield, lewis, etc etc

i never understood why roy left the heavyweight division..john ruiz was a bum but he could punch like a regular heavyweight and he had no trouble handling ruiz's power...he could have had title unifications with chris byrd, face holyfield or tyson, hell even jones-toney 2..there were fights there that were worth his while financially..because, talent aside, most of his fights from the time he blew away montell griffin in the first round in the rematch to the clinton woods fight were not must sees..just glorified flamboyant sparring sessions

he should have fought dariusz during that time too since he was the actual lineal light heavyweight champ (im a stickler for that) before dariusz got ruined in them 2 wars with richard hall (woefully underrated fights)..the biggest mistake roy made with his matchmaking was not fighting bernard hopkins again in 2002..that was the ultimate moneymaker rematch..everyone wanted to see that fight..the stars were aligned and roy fukked it all up with the negotiations..60-40 for a cat who was at equal footing as him at the time :smh:..thats insulting..i was pissed when roy fought clinton woods instead

then of course he fukked up his body draining to 175..suffer damaging losses and his career has never been the same and now it looks like he's on his way to being another boxing brain damage casualty

are you being sarcastic? lewis was how old and he is not one of the best HW of all time.

and did u not forget, vitali was lucky to come out of that fight without permanent injury/disfigurement.

The Klits are the Kings right now and deserve major accolade.

he beat virgil hill, mike mccallum ( even though he was past prime), alot of contenders/solid top 10 names at light heavy(like reggie johnson, julio gonzalez, thorton, clinton woods, louie de valle) but nothing spectacular.

how did a light heavyweight, who jumped 2 classes up in weight duck a whole heavyweight division. nikkka roy took the RISK of going up in weight. even though i think he could have beat certain fighters a heavyweight, the size was obviously a bit too much for him. a reason why he went back down to light heavy. so how is that duckin skip?

please list these fights where roy supposedly took less money against lesser opponents to avoid big fights. one thing about roy is that he always took the lions share and nothing less. shyt even in the ruiz fight he made 10 million and 60% of the ppv revenue. like i mentioned his attitude might have costed big fights to happen but I don't think he was scared to get in the ring with anyone from g-man, eubanks, collins, dariusz, toney, and benard.

im not even a roy fan like that but if u want to say roy was overrated that's cool. but to say he ducked this guy and that guy, thats all nonsense. question, do you think roy avoided the rematch against bernard when he asked for 60/40?
