If in his last fight, he got 2 million against Edwin Rodriguez....why would he take any less when he fought Rodriguez coming off a 14 month layoff and got 2 million. If he fights in April (like it's been rumored), he'd be coming off a 17 month layoff and is probably asking for about 1.5-2 million.

Just because they jerk GGG around, doesnt mean SOG gotta go for it.

He's still undefeated since 12 years old, he's still our Olympic Gold Medalist, he's still the #4 Pound For Pound, and still the Super Middleweight RING, Lineal, and WBA Champion....show him some respect HBO:ufdup:

Well the difference is that the Rodriguez fight was coming off of Ward getting the TKO over Chad Dawson so Ward. This fight is coming off of a not very crowd-pleasing UD over Rodriguez. Boxing is a "what have you done lately" type of business and the last thing Ward did was completely blah. There is no clamor for Andre Ward, no one is hotly anticipating his return. The Super 6 tourney and beating Dawson were both a very long time ago in boxing time.
Dude need to just take a reasonable payday for this tune-up; blitz whoever his opponent is in convincing fashion and look for the real money afterwards. he has been inactive too long to think that things will be the same in 2015 as they were in 2013. That is not a realistic way of looking at things.

Haymon has Chavez Jr, Anthony Dirrell, and Andre Dirrell at 168 and Stevenson, Bute, Fonfara, Shumenov and Marcus Browne at 175.:ehh:

maybe Ward wanted to be the #1 dude at roc nation:manny:

There is no one that Haymon has that is better than Ward at 160-175 imo and Ward would be marketed greatly with Haymon. He WOULD be 2nd to JCC Jr though, so I see what you're saying.

It would give Ward excellent in house matchups he could make. Unfortunately, he's with J Prince and that means he's stuck with J Prince:to:
