The first Floyd/Maidana fight was not a huge success but the narrative that came out of it made a rematch a no-brainer because of all the hype about Maidana giving Floyd his first real challenge in years and even some knuckleheads talking about Maidana won.One of you Showtime financial consultants please answer me this

Why would they make a rematch to a failure N then have the co main as LSC vs sparring partner + Bey vs Vasquez

It is not that hard to figure out. They miscalculated the appeal of this rematch to the "I Hate Floyd" PPV buying contingent who only buy his PPVs with the hope of seeing him lose.
And the first Floyd/Maidana fight needed a better undercard because no one was hyped for that main event. SHowtime figured that the events of the first fight made the rematch enough of a selling point that the undercard didn't really matter.
Top Rank plus Golden Boy minus Al Haymon equals the fight gets made.
I am curious if Roy is just cool doing these glorified exhibition bouts for good money in the Eastern bloc or if he actually has designs on trying to win a belt one more time before retiring?
Disliking one doesn't automatically mean that you like the other one.
I think Arum is just as big a piece of shyt as Haymon. The sooner he retires the better.

That's always been his goal to get a legitimate CW title. Something he has said many times over the years but was unsuccessful getting some of those fights made. He wanted to rematch Lebedev but they didn't want the fight and also wanted to fight Krzystof Wlodarczyk which is why he fought in Poland a few fights back.
