Caribe was the only participant, winning the right to promote the fight with a bid of $317,777.77. The tentative date is November 22 in Miami or the Dominican Republic.

Herreras name sends shivers down Garcias spine:wow:

Hes even moving up to welterweight just to avoid him:wow:

and Broners next on his hit list:steviej:

“Broner can get it,” stated Herrera. “If He (Garcia) vacates the titles, then I hope I can get the fight so I can fight for the titles, and I hope it would be Broner. I’m more smart and intelligent in the ring. To me he’s not impressive. I’d love to take that fight. He’s a tough showboat and that’s pretty much it. I’m a different Mexican fighter, not your typical brawling Mexican fighter, I would love that fight.”

Herrera/Broner would be a tough fight for either opponent

Why is Rigondeaux being treated like the red-headed stepchild of boxing?

Dan Rafael chat wrap 9/19:

- GGG vs winner of Cotto-Canelo (assuming that happens)...lists it as doubtful.
- Mikey Garcia is still involved in a lawsuit that he feels is pointless as TR has done a good job. Seems like Garcia doesn't want to fight.
- Adamek vs Szpilka: a fun fight between a has been and never will be.
- Rosado-Kirkland, not 100% for sure yet. A good action fight.
- Does not agree with Lampley in that Floyd is bad for the sport. Believes that Floyd could make boxing better if he was more serious and of course actively pursued a Pacquiao fight.
- Highly unlikely that Floyd moves up to fight Cotto for the 160 lb title.
- Rigo-Santa Cruz is all up to the handlers and networks. Santa Cruz is begging for it, Rigo is available.
- Has not heard anything on Ellerbe being on the outs with Mayweather, other than what has been reported already. Did comment that Ellerbe is not a leech. Works his ass off for Mayweather.
- Rodriguez-Takayama is his FOTY so far.
- Sergio Martinez visited the doctor this week to have his knee looked at. MRI's and other tests done. Results still not known.
- Asked about if everywhere Ariza went there are "problems". Agreed that seems to be the case.
- Doesn't think Khan deserves a Mayweather fight on resume. Based on who is available and popularity he could deserve it.
- His most desired Mayweather fight to watch (outside of Pacquiao) is Thurman.
- Doesn't think there is a single blue-chipper in all of Mayweather Promotions fighters.
- He believes Schaefer will still be involved in boxing once his legal issues are resolved. No clear rumor on what he could do.
- If BHop beats Kovalev, he will be his frontrunner for fighter of the year.
- He prefers to see Matthysse-Broner, than a rematch of Garcia.
- GGG's fight in LA is a total sellout.
- Doubting that ODH will be involved in the promotion of Floyd's next fight.
- He saw other reporters saying 925k. His sources are saying it might get to the high 800's...actually better than the first fight. But it is still too early. Comcast hasn't even reported numbers yet.
- Floyd should be considered as good or better defensively than: Pep, Whitaker, and Locche.
- GGG chased Sturm for a fight for 2 years (while GGG was the mandatory) and Sturm ducked him.
- 20x20 ring is the standard and rule in Nevada.
- David Haye is talking to Haymon about joining up.
- Lesnar-Cena on Sunday...picking Lesnar.
- Floyd's people were very upset by the Nichols interview.
- Jay Z was not the mystery man trying to buy GB for 100 million. Didn't say who he thought it was.
- Floyd will get a talking to with the boxing commission over "the dog house". First offense, just want to make sure he doesn't do it again.
- Thinks Bayless is the best referee in boxing. Had a bad night, but not as bad as some people think.
- Best guess on ODH and Stephen Espinoza's relationship - strained.
- Could potentially see Santa Cruz - Mares happening.
- Agrees, Berto and Ortiz should fight....loser retires.
- Feels Showtime and HBO both have come up short in discussing Mayweather's own history of domestic violence.
- Best cutman working (that he could think of): Miguel Diaz, Rafael Garcia, Danny Milano, Stitch Duran, and Russ Anber.
- Buffett was supposed to walk Floyd out, but either Buffett or one of Buffett's associates decided not to, were uncomfortable with Mayweather's domestic abuse history and the Ray Rice media attention.
- Named his cat after Popo Freitas.
- Pacquiao-Algieri undercard is acceptable. Not great, but better than what has been put out recently.
- The rumors of Floyd losing teeth are not true.
- Crawford is not a very good interview. Likable guy, getting better at interviews.
- HBO is interested in Gonzalez-Estrada 2.
- Someone asked about Caribe bidding on the purse for Rigo-Avalos. Said Rigo will not be fighting Avalos. Avalos most likely will be fighting in England next.
- If Andrade beats Korobov, wouldn't be surprised to see him stay at 160.
- No rumors surrounding an Andrade-GGG fight, but wouldn't be surprised if it happened.
