Jorge "Travieso" Arce's late in the day and utterly audacious yet characteristic challenge for Jhonny Gonzalez's WBC featherweight title, is an all or nothing lunge into a firestorm!
Fearless and fearsome as a tiger, Jorge is training towards, planning for and counting on a war, which will be remembered for many years to come.
On October 4th in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, which is smack bang on Arce's front porch, an arm's length from his back yard, Gonzalez will defend his WBC featherweight title.
Location doesn't bother Jhonny a jot, because: "Of the times that I have been In exactly this position, and I've fought through to victory. The pressure is not in me it is in my rival!”
As for Travieso, the scamp knows he's in for one helluva scrap. He acknowledged: "I'm going to be facing one of the biggest punchers. And in his corner he's working with Ignacio Beristain, who's one of the best trainers in the whole wide world. But I've always been a tiger, I will fight tremendously hard, and we 'll see if he can follow my rhythm.
"I've been told that I looked for this fight only for money, and that is not true! I'm going to fight Jhonny Gonzalez because I am sure I will be victorious.
"I'm going to win my 6th world title. Fortunately I have my economic future secure, I am fighting for pride only, but that means everything. If I lose I think I'll hang up my gloves."

Jorge Arce Says He'll Retire If Jhonny Gonzalez Beats Him
So...what round will Jhonny KO Arce in? I am thinking 4 or 5.
According to co-promoter Luis de Cubas Sr., WBA 'regular' junior middleweight champion Erislandy Lara (19-2-2, 12KOs) of Cuba could return in the month of November against former IBF king Ishe Smith (26-6, 12KOs).
They were scheduled to fight earlier this year, but Lara withdrew for the opportunity to face Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez on July 12th, where the Cuban boxer lost a close decision. Smith instead faced Ryan Davis on May 2nd and battered him in two rounds.
"Negotiations are underway for that fight, but we do not know if it's going to be for October, November or December, but that is what is being talked about right now," said De Cubas, who also works with IBF chmapion Carlos Molina.

I'm trying to figure out why anyone would go back to this match-up after it was scrapped for last spring when Lara took the Canelo fight. Nobody was disappointed that these two were not going to fight back then and nobody was clamoring for this fight to get made again.struggle fights galore
seriously..2013 was a fukking great year for fights..where did we go wrong brehs?..can you imagine if both those fights were on the same card? i would purposely make sure i had something else to do that day that involved me being out of the condo so im not tempted to watch lolIt almost feels like the boxing gods are punishing the fans with all these shytty match ups.
