Sounds Like Rigo Could Be Joining Frank Warren Stable

After negotiations with Roc Nations Sports hit a snag, the snag being, according to the Irish dealmaker and facilitator Hyde, an impasse in terms of co-promotion between Roc and the team at Caribe Promotions, Hyde moved to Plan B. He reached out to the Brit dealmaker with heavy creds and decades of experience tucked into his trousers, Frank Warren.

I don't think so. Rigo x'd out his eye though and he hasn't been the same since. That's gonna be a good scrap
Yeah, I don't think Donaire has ever been down. He took some great shots vs Rigo and never looked in danger of being hurt, more so in that he was just tired of getting pelted straight in the face.

Donaire has looked sluggish and lacked movement in his fights since Rigo, so Walters will have the chance to land clean punches. Plus, Walters looked like he could physically move up in weight and have no problems, he will be the bigger fighter.

Donaire still has that left hook, which is as dangerous as any punch in boxing.

Great matchup. Great card.

I'm gonna be rooting for Donaire, but I'd put my money on Walters... Donaire hasn't looked like himself since that Rigo fight took his soul. He's also not used to being the smaller man in the ring, and Walter's has the frame to move up all the way to JWW with his long ass reach. I don't see this being a very good match up for Donaire, especially if he falls in love with his left hook like he has been

Frank Warren move is good if Rigo is looking to get paid. Warren can likely get him much more money than those others you named without Rigo having to wait in line and have his career path being dictated upon x/y fighters winning losing before he can face them. From a popularity standpoint, GBP/Mayweather/Haymon would get him some notoriety. I think he is saying pretty much right now he is trying to cash a few big checks real quick...after all he is actually at past prime age for a fighter of his size.

I dont think its a bad move either. He can fight anybody without worrying about promoter/network issues.

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum would love to stage not one, but two fights next year between welterweight champions Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao.

Arum told The San Francisco Chronicle that both networks, HBO and Showtime, are interested in staging the fight early next year. Mayweather has an exclusive multi-fight deal with Showtime and Pacquiao fights under HBO. But Arum, who promotes Pacquiao, believes the fight is big enough where both networks will work together side by side - as they did several years ago for the heavyweight super-fight between Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis.

“Both networks want this fight to happen,” Arum said to the paper. “All signs seem to point to the fight happening early next year.”

Both fighters have defenses coming up. Mayweather defends his WBC/WBA titles against Marcos Maidana on September 13 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and Pacquiao defends against Chris Algieri on November 22 in Macau.

“There is a sell-by date, where it becomes (after that) ‘Who cares?’ It has to happen by the first six months of next year,” Arum said. “And if it happens, there should be a provision with a different percentage for the rematch. So that the winner is rewarded for winning the fight. I would love to see these guys fight twice next year.”
