Broner trained in DC with Barry Hunter & the Peterson boys.

It's unfortunate, but Broner seems to be friends with the top tier guys in his division (Peterson, Garcia), so those are fights he really has no interest in unless you throw a significant amount of money at him.

Peterson/Broner is a really good fight though. A true 50-50 type of a fight.

I don't really think you can question Broner or Peterson. These are 2 guys that will fight anybody.

With Peterson, you have a guy that has damn near fought every relevant guy at 140. What makes the most sense for him is trying to get Garcia. Lucas isn't going anywhere. Besides, Peterson isn't the loud type going around chasing nyggas like Shannon Briggs.

With Broner, his team still needs to see if he's ready for that type of fight. He was absolutely awful in that last fight he had. What he needs to do is focus on Taylor

The negotiations for a January fight with titleholder Carl Froch are going nowhere and very well could be dead as Froch is instead looking at a mandatory defense against British countryman James DeGale because Chavez seems so reluctant to make a deal.

And now Chavez (48-1-1, 32 KOs), who fought just once in 2013 and will fight only once this year, is also passing up the opportunity to win a super middleweight title against Anthony Dirrell (27-0-1, 22 KOs), who claimed the belt on Aug. 16 as he outpointed Sakio Bika in a rematch of their draw. Chavez is Dirrell’s mandatory challenger and not inclined to take that undeserved title opportunity either.

The WBC announced on its website on Monday that Chavez has notified the organization that he will not exercise his mandatory status against Dirrell. The WBC, therefore, said it has approved Dirrell to make a voluntary defense of his title in his next fight while the organization figures out the mandatory challenger.

Keep in mind that Chavez now has not only rejected two different super middleweight title opportunities but also declined to face middleweight titlist Gennady Golovkin in a fight that was being put together for July at the Forum in Inglewood, California.

Bu-bu-but I thought only SOG was the one missing fights:to:

Difference is, like I told @ChocolateGiddyUp, Ward ISNT turning down fights....his promoter isnt making them or offering anything to him. Chavez, on the other hand, is turning down fights left and right and is willing to sit on the shelf until next October so that he gets out of his contract. Doing the same thing Mikey Garcia is doing:snoop:

And I am wondering what Chavez really wants at this point. It seems as if it is plain lack of desire now. He is resisting signing a multi-fight contract? Virtually every other fighter has a multi-fight contract they are bound to. Maybe he is standing up for that. But it doesn't make a lot of sense. He would be signing his contract and would be presented with the biggest fights and the most money he can get.
Being signed to TR/HBO means he can fight GGG, Froch, still had a shot at Dirrell, Ward (if his contract situation ever gets worked out), and although I think it is completely unlikely - if he could still make 160 there is Cotto and Canelo.
There literally appears to be nothing anywhere else. Maybe he wants in on the Haymon plan, fight bums and make good paychecks. :shaq2:

Jr. fukked up...I think he let Al Satan get in his ear and now his career is going down the toilet. Arum offered that nikka all those millions and he would've had access to all those fights.. Its a damn shame.. nikkas like Jr are the embodiment of whats wrong with this new generation of boxers
