if you remember me and you where the only ones saying that the AB Maidana fight was close! If it wasn't for the knock downs I think it could have been a win for AB. The difference was Floyd is better than Broner and he was never knocked down.

When your scoring a round those illegal punches don't count, yeah they still hurt and are effective in damaging and or distracting your opponent but by no means are they supposed to be counted as scoring punches

I mean, I agree....but they are still punches that connect and if the ref let's it go, we gotta count em:manny:

Besides, Floyd was doing the wrong thing by ducking down in the corner which is why he was getting hit over and over again with illegal brain damaging shots (punches to the back of the head and top of the head).

Mick Foley Maidana got away with a lot of shyt in his past 2 fights and the 2nd a ref tosses that "Extreme Rules" style of fighting he uses in the bushes, he's gonna get the hell beat out of him:manny:

You cant do that breh.

Maidana fought Floyd JUST like he fought Broner....except Floyd never went down and he never walked down Maidana at any point either.

All the holding with 1 hand and punching with the other/clinching/dirty punches to the back and top of the head that was so funny when AB was getting hit with them are the same punches Floyd was getting hit with.

Maidana fought exactly like he said he would and had very much success with it while Floyd was trying to stand toe to toe with him.

Floyd had Marcos going back/was leading a few times due to body attack though. Marcos used the same template for Broner, but Floyd was able to match him in strength and deal with the bullying, and evade monster shots defensively. He didn't take any damage besides the cut either :manny:. Middle of the ring it was no contest. Broner showed no movement at all, giving all types of targets to hit. Part of that i believe was underestimation on his (Broner's) part though.

Except for your not supposed to score illegal shots as shots landed.

just rewatched the fight again- i see it for floyd 9-3/ 8-4 at worst. maidana applied pressure all night but he kept getting hit with clean shots, all the while he really didn't land as clean shots against floyd. he did make the fight ugly though. marcos did his best work on the ropes. even the rounds he won, he really didn't dominate them so i can see how the judge went 117-111.

this fight kinda shows how floyd not being a combination puncher will make fights look close vs a pressure fighter with a non stop motor. if he threw more punches and was less economical with his offense- it might have been more apparent to the judges. i kinda think he did abandon his game plan to box, he went to the ropes too much, even against cotto went he went to the ropes he was letting his hands go.

rafael garcia did a great job on that cut, it could have been a big deal later. all in all i got respect for marcos, he fought hard and increased his stock- but it felt like the floyd/ hatton fight all over again minus the stoppage.

amir khan looked good but i think he's not great enough of an inside fighter to trouble floyd even with his handspeed. he did get caught again, but he moved well enough to keep collazo away.

broner just looks like he didn't learn nothing from his loss. if molina had more power that fight could have went differently. broner just gotta respect his opponent more because against better fighters thats not gonna fly. i was surprised he didn't stop molina though. he looks really good though when he lets his hands go through. just needs to tighten up his d and learn to fight moving backwards.

j'leon love should be thanking the ref that fight wasn't stopped cause it should have been. but he did what he needed to do after that to win. can't be mad at that

Floyd might be 1 of the greatest dirty fighter ever....

nikka put Miadana in a choke hold and put his glove over his mouth so he couldn't breathe:deadrose:

Fight isn't close watching it again:ohhh:

Just how I felt. He was letting his hands go this fight and was looking good out there connecting on Molina.

i'm still leery on broner cause he really only pulled these stunts cause he knew molina couldn't hurt him regardless of the punches he threw. i think he wouldn't pull that vs garcia or mattyhsse. i'd like to see him vs lucas next. if he wins that fight- i think he's back on, but i would favor lucas in it.
