what are matthysse's realistic options at 140? is it just broner?

There's plenty more 135 lbers he can bring up to 140 while he comes in the ring at Middleweight for the fight:mjpls:

But on the real though, Lamont Peterson, Adrien Broner, Viktor Postol, Selcuk Aydin, and Mauricio Herrera are all opponents at 140 that he can fight and would probably be good matchups:manny:

:patrice:i guess hes going to have to move up then. they have broner in a rebuilding phase right now i dont think a fight with matthysse can go through at this time.

matthysse vs thurman... :patrice:

I'd prefer he not face another no defense 140 pound Mexican whom he'd outweigh by 15 lbs come fight night :ld:

Nah, if you believe Kovalev is worthy of facing the lineal light heavy champion then he should be facing legit top 5 comp or :cape:recent victims

Dawson, Pascal and Cloud would all be step ups and they can all be made
I guess what I was really tryna ask was, if you were Thomas Williams Jr's people, and you got offered the fight for late July, would you accept it?

I already know there's better comp for Kovalev, but I'm looking at it from TMJr.'s vantage point

I personally have no problem with the Thurman fight. Diaz is no quitter, he came to fight. He just got caught to the body. People dont look at it the same. When u say got caught, people think caught to the head....meaning hurt badly or KOed. why does the same not apply to bodyshots? yeah, he was walking around and didnt get stopped by the shot...but hurt ribcage is with you for the rest of the fight whereas a headshot you can clear or you will be ok after the KO. Diaz ribs will prob take a few weeks to recover.
Hmph.........:beli:

Matthysse went down three or four notches in this match, Garcia ruined this boy, for a guy that didnt get dropped before swift idk, I will gauge it more closely when he moves up, but all in all he stood tall, and kept storming back vs the smaller fighter, so I give him all the props in the world. Molina came to fight, so no fighters get slighted here, although Lucas didnt come out unscathed.....Another FOTY candidate for the machine

Now onto Thurman bum ass, I told yall this hype train non top 15 facing welterweight ass had zero answers for someone walking him down, he gets walked down and buzzed by a blown up lightweight..........And I watched the fight like 5 times trying to analyze every single fuking body shot and not one of those body shots hurt Diaz, made him drop his guard, or stop him from returning fire........Diaz was simply a guy content on quitting still feeling some type of way about the frivolous Khan decision, and laid hands on the promise child, and quit before Thurman could return fire back, sending a big fukk you to Haymon, Showtime and crew, he didnt want a rematch or nothing, that doesnt sound like a fighter that had his opponent seriously hurt at the time of the unfortunate stoppage, that shows me quitting/ embarrassing Thurman was the agenda and he accomplished that, the announcer frowned when Diaz was talking retirement instead of rematch because he knew what went down....................LMAO at showtime only showing that phantom body shot once.........Lastly Thurman aint slick he was uick to mention the friend shyt with Porter, then mention he would fight 6, number 5 and number 4 ww............., well considering he's a Haymon fighter only able to face one half of the WW's, who the fukk is the 6 and 5 best WW in the GB stable, Lopez or Ortiz, no Thurman you aint slick, anything less than a Porter will be uncivilized, nikkas is sick of that hype shyt..................

i dont think he took a dive but it looked like he was probably looking for a way out. diaz announced retirement after the fight. carlos quintana announced retirement immediately after he fought thurman too. any time you got a guy looking at retirement being brought in for a showcase fight you got to think whats the motivation to be in a hard fight for his last fight? he got his last check hes going to get from the sport already whats his motivation to take a beating? im not saying thats the right thing to do but i can understand a fighter like quintana not trying to get up from a body shot, or diaz just coming out and giving these guys three rounds. you got to look at the whole situation.

This is true:manny:

And Julio Diaz did quit in that fight imo as well, just like ol' boy against Josesito Lopez.

That is what I felt. I don't think Diaz took a dive or the fight was thrown in any fashion. The most likely scenario is that GB couldn't get any good fights for Thurman, so Diaz agreed...knowing that this probably was his last fight - or his last fight vs a good fighter, and wanted another good paycheck.
He probably wanted to go a few rounds to see if he could catch lightning in a bottle and get lucky. He quickly found that Thurman was going to punish him with shots he didn't want to take, so he wrapped it up.

Why do yall keep doing this theory shyt man? :what:.. Its sickening
If he says his ribs were too fukked up to continue why it gotta be more than that?? Thurman was already the favorite to win... Why slight his win with bullshyt theories about diaz throwing the fight? The reaching not necessary

Since I've never taken shots from world class welterweight punchers that are in their prime, I won't say that Diaz took a dive. In 3 rounds he took some mean ass shots including a vintage Mortal Kombat style uppercut from that nikka.
Diaz was also sounding like he had trouble speaking in the post fight interview. Dude was sounding all out of breath and shyt. I think he was legit hurt.

I don't think he took the type of beating that Alvarado and Dawson got from Prov and Ward when they decided they had enough, but he was beaten worse than Zab was when he quit against Khan.

Biggest difference is Diaz was a career lightweight with mad years on him taking these shots.

It was just another impressive win from team #Thurminator where chins (or bodies) get destroyed and nikkas catch feelings afterwards.

I think I gotta do what I did for team #StevensonSuperMen and bang out a theme song for Mr. One Time:smugbiden:

He aint dive, but he quit with a smile on his face and a fukk you to GB, then retired afterwards like..........:skip:

After every body shot, Diaz kept coming forward and throwing..............Bottom line Thurman got exposed to a degree, no one can tell me with a straight face with 100% surety that Thurman would win after getting his ass whooped the whole 3rd round and buzzed to boot

There are a million fighters from 140-154 I'd favor over Thurman including Broner, because Thurman can't do shyt when he's being walked down, tried to tell you nikkas........Chinny(Now Certified), hands down defense, wide/wild/predictable shots that he loads up and telegraph, yall don't listen though:beli:

One top 15 WW, i'll continue waiting :mjpls:
