A Message to My Fans
I want to clear up all the speculation about when I will fight next. Reports that I am holding out or don’t want to fight are simply untrue. My fans should know that despite my lawsuit against Goossen Tutor Promotions, I have asked Dan Goossen to set up my next fight as soon as possible. Actually, I’ve been ready to fight since December.
I know this a frustrating time for my fans and I appreciate your patience and all the encouragement you’ve given me.

I hope to be back in the ring very soon.

-Andre Ward

He should sit ringside & call out the winner of Martinez-Cotto. Perhaps he'll hope the winner will move up. He may just sit & wait a few years hoping they move up to fight him at 168 in Oakland :snoop:

lmao at this shyt.

see if my promoter can further my career now that i've taken him to court :dead:

ward should have known what was going to happen, now he's paying for this shyt. what i don't understand is why he's taking his promoter to court when he's gotten everything and more considering he's not that big of a draw and doesn't fight out of cali. i wanna see him back in the ring but, goosen might fuk him for the rest of the year now.

De La Hoya Focused on Patching Things Up With Arum

By Carlos Arias

Oscar De La Hoya was back in his role as the president of Golden Boy Promotions, leading Thursday's news conference to promote Saturday's triple-header at StubHub Center in Carson on Showtime.

Before the news conference, De La Hoya spoke about how he initiated a conversation with his former promoter and rival Bob Arum of Top Rank Promotions recently.

"Absolutely," De La Hoya said. "It was a must. You know, I have a program that I'm following that is making me a bigger person, a better person, a person that is honest, a person that really just wants to make amends to whoever I owe amends to and I owe amends to Bob Arum. Bob Arum has been very instrumental in my career. I'm never going to forget about that. Now that we're promoters why not work together for the best and better of the fans of the sport? That's what we must do."

De La Hoya said he didn't talk about specific fights with Arum. Obviously, one of the biggest fights that could be made would be Manny Pacquiao, who is Top Rank's biggest star, vs. Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, who is Golden Boy Promotions's biggest star.

"What I'm doing is I've extended the olive branch (to Arum), you know, for the good of the sport, for the good of Golden Boy and Top Rank, and for the fans in general," De La Hoya said. "Why not? This is what has to be done. We're not talking about fights right now. We're just making that cordial introduction once again to each other and we're saying, 'Hey, let's let the past be the past. Let's work together for the sport.'"

Golden Boy and Top Rank haven't co-promoted a major fight in five years.

"I can't think about the past. I can't live in the future, but I want to live right now. And right now is extending that olive branch for the better of the sport. You know, let's make these fights happen. Why not? The fans deserve it. The fans want to see these fights. Let's do it. I'm telling Bob Arum, 'Hey, we can do this.' I want to give him a hug and tell him, 'Hey, thank you. Thank you for what you did throughout my whole career.' I haven't done that. I'm going to do it. And then, maybe, who knows what happens after that."

Despite De La Hoya's push for a positive relationship with Arum, Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer has stated in several interviews on BoxingScene that he doesn't have any interest in having a working relationship with Arum.

I'm all for TR and GB working together but...

:snoop: at a potential Manny/Canelo fight.

I mean there's a bunch of welterweight fights that could be made between Manny and Goldenboy. Why the fukk would you put him in their with a heavy ass jr middle. It's like they think they gotta sacrifice Pac in order for both companies to work with each other again. :what:

Sacrifice Pac? :usure:

More like sacrificing Canelo :sas2:

Don't get me wrong. It's a winnable fight for Pac, but it can be one of those grinding take a lot out of you type wins similar to the Margarito fight. Canelo is 2x the fighter Tonio was at that time and Manny is less of a fighter now than he was back then.

I just think the sitiuation favors Canelo more. Dude can fight at his same slow ass pace and prolly get a KO.

I rather see Manny vs Garcia or Thurman. Those are more winnable bouts for dude, plus he ain't gotta fight someone that's 166 or some shyt on fight night.

Manny's team may be robbing him blind but they ain't dumb breh if this fight happens Canelo is going to have to weigh 150 or some shyt :heh:

Of course. Canelo still gon be naturally bigger and heavier though. Canelo needs to be targeting the winner of Cotto/Martinez, but I know he'll jump on a Manny pay day if it's presented even if he has to chop off an arm in order to make weight.
