this dude broner really thought he was just going to back up maidana and hurt him eventually... but everytime broner would try to get going like that he would eventually get hit with a big shot, mostly the left to the jaw... this happened every round

Mayweather: Pacquiao has to avenge his losses to Marquez and Bradley before I’ll fight him

Mayweather: Pacquiao has to avenge his losses to Marquez and Bradley before I’ll fight him

By ES Boxing | Published February 23, 2013 | 91 Comments

By If Bob Arum of Top Rank and Manny Pacquiao want a huge money mega fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. to take place in 2014 then Pacquiao is going to have to avenge his defeats to Juan Manuel Marquez and Tim Bradley, Mayweather says. He says Pacquiao has unfinished business with those two fighters before he’ll even consider a bout against him.

Speaking with ESPN, Mayweather said “First Manny Pacquiao has to get past Marquez, a fighter I beat with ease. I mean, that was one of my easiest fights. Manny Pacquiao still has Tim Bradley problems, he still has Marquez problems. First Manny Pacquiao has to get those guys, then he can step inside the lion’s den with Floyd Mayweather.”

Mayweather has a good point. How can Mayweather face Pacquiao with him having lost his last two fights? That doesn’t make sense because a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight now won’t make nearly the numbers now that they would if Pacquiao would avenge his defeats to Marquez and Bradley first.

Pacquiao has a problem, though. Marquez isn’t interested in fighting him again, he says, and for that fight to take place Pacquiao will likely have to give Marquez a bigger cut of the revenue compared to their previous fights.

Marquez knows he’s in a good position to get a better deal due to his 6th round knockout win over Pacquiao from last December. Marquez seems like it doesn’t matter to him whether he faces Pacquiao again or not because he got the better of him the last time they fought.

Pacquiao will have to give Marquez a better purse split for the fight to happen. Whether Marquez holds out for a 50-50 deal is unclear, but you’d have to figure that would be a deal breaker because Arum can make big money for Pacquiao just fighting his pretty much anyone.

1 loss doesnt end the career of a 24 year old.

Besides, what yall fail to realize when yall try and talk down on me for repping Broner, is at least Im going out on a limb.

It would be EASY for me to rep my 3 other fav fighters everyday all day (Ward, Rigo, and Canelo).....but what fun would I get out of that?:dwillhuh:

I picked up on Broner with his fight with Rafael Lora when I read about him in our local paper (the Plain Dealer) in Cleveland and started watching him more and more.....he was still only 20 years old and I believe 15-0 at the time.

So, in trying to bash me, you actually look foolish in the end. Look at a few of the boxing heads on here and their fave fighters that they stan (@ChocolateGiddyUp...Danny Garcia, @Mook....Marcos Maidana, @krackdagawd.....Paulie Malignaggi/B-Hop, @patscorpio.....Carlos Molina/Gary Russell Jr., @synistr....Terence Crawford, @mr. smoke weed.....Bradley, @SuikodenII....Jhonny Gonzalez) and it's obvious to me that people who only stan Floyd are the ones who DONT know boxing where the REAL heads go out on a limb. It's easy to always root for the one who's supposed to be the best ever.

Basically, it's like this. Just hop on the biggest name, stan them, and claim you know the sport better than someone who reps a fighter who isnt already a legend brehs:wow:

Me, I'll take it with Broner, because whatever happens with him, whether he becomes an ATG or becomes just another fighter, I didnt follow the trend and hope on the biggest name in boxing.
Great post. The whole point of stanning a fighter is to start from the beginning and hope they make it to the top. You don't start at the top.

If you don't stan Floyds boxing SKILLS you're not a boxing fan. N/H that dude is incredible in the ring. I'd pay top dollar for those Mayweather gym sparring sessions. Dude's personality out of the ring is :yeshrug: but he's a master boxer. He's bled once in the ring since at least the JMM, and only has been stunned once in the past 5 years. But floyd STANS are repulsive, give dude a bad name and rep

So, I have to say, we aren't allowed to proclaim being a fan of his? How is it repulsive to do so? Especially when it's truth. He's the most accurate puncher according to statistics, the best defensive fighter virtually ever according to statistics. Has only been in a few legitimate scraps where he was in 'trouble'. Consistently fights people that are two weight classes higher than him on fight night. Takes care of his body about as well as a 37 year old person could possibly do. His fights follow a script to where, based on prior fights, we can tell you how the fight is going to go. Floyd opened up on Maidana with -1400 odds, while Marcos has won 18 of his last 19 fights, in the prime of his career and Floyd is 37 while Pacquiao had Brandon fukking Rios at -500 and Rios was coming off of a loss and he was coming up in weight and we are supposed to act like Floyd is like everyone else? He isn't, he's far above them and as a fan, we are going to talk about that. The monetary shyt, I could give two shyts less about but as far as skills, ability, i.e. the entire package, Floyd is going to have to take that L to make us change that tune.

Yeah, but how "hard" is it to be a Floyd Mayweather stan? Everyone knows that Floyd is the best boxer today and one of the greatest to ever lace em up......but what's next?:dwillhuh:

See, that's my problem with the general Floyd stan. They became "fans" because he was the trendy pick, but barely know ANYTHING about boxing outside of Floyd:camby:

It aint hard to be a fan of the best...that's easy:manny:

Not saying you are a casual fan, but most casual fans are Floyd stans.....but cant tell you what titles Floyd currently holds and by what organizations without having to Google it first:snoop:

I dont respect that:yeshrug:

At least have another fighter that you know just as much and ride for if you're gonna be a fan of the consensus #1 fighter in the world today. I'd respect a Floyd stan who says that he also likes Demetrius Andrade just as much and that he's the future........but most Floyd stans, and other casuals, dont know who that is. And he's an Olympian and Undefeated Champion:manny:

Just my opinion on the whole thing. I just look like :rudy: whenever someone brings up "you're a fan of Adrien Broner" like that's supposed to be a slight. Yeah I am.

Im also a fan of Ward/Canelo/Rigo/Jermell Charlo/Bryant Jennings/Errol Spence/Julian Williams/Devon Alexander/Shawn Porter/Willie Nelson/JCC Jr. as well, but I dont bring them up as much, because AB is more entertaining for me to watch and my favorite:ohlawd:

I think it shows variety and that you're not just a follower of who's the hottest at the time:manny:
