I fukks with ward but he is wasting his prime right now

My problem with Ward is he doesn't make things happen imo.

He's kind of overly strategic to the point that shyt doesn't get done. Everything has to be just right.

Floyd, the number 1 draw in the sport, will still compromise & move up in weight in order to make a fight.

I'm looking @ the top 30 @ 168 right now. There is nothing there for him. Waiting for guys to move up is pointless when they will want someone like a Froch anyway.

@ 175, you currently have at least a couple of guys there that have a decent name that would be willing to fight him.

Broner Says He’s Still Not Humble Despite Maidana Loss

Adrien Broner wasn’t in the mode we’ve become accustomed to seeing and hearing from him, remaining rather chill during an April 1 conference call with the media in advance of his May 3 bout against Carlos Molina on the pay-per-view undercard to Floyd Mayweather vs. Marcos Maidana.

But in case you got the wrong idea, the former three-division titleholder made sure to remind us that this isn’t a new Broner changed by his loss to Maidana last December.

“Everybody’s looking for Adrien Broner to be this new, humble guy. Well if you’re looking for Adrien Broner to be this new, humble guy, you won’t get it,” he said. “I’m still the same fresh, fly, flashy, young, rich and famous young man.”

Broner, a 24-year-old who is 27-1 with 22 knockouts and 1 no contest, held world titles at 130, 135 and 147. Molina, 28, is 17-1-1 with 7 KOs and is coming off more than a year away from the ring following a December 2012 stoppage loss to Amir Khan.

Broner politely declined to talk about the Maidana loss, saying he was on the call to talk about the Molina fight. And he said he wasn’t bothered by the fact that he’s fighting on the undercard of the guy who beat him.

“At the end of the day, I’m still getting a hell of a check. So I don’t care if it’s on the undercard, on the overcard, on the sidecard,” Broner said.

Broner had built himself up as someone that boxing fans either loved or loved to hate. The loss was seen by some as potentially devastating to a previously undefeated, highly hyped fighter — or perhaps that’s just what some hoped would happen.

“Anybody with the pedestal they put me on, anybody taking the loss that I did, it’d probably break them,” Broner said. “But coming where I come from, you know, I’m strong mentally and physically, so I’m ok. I’m perfectly fine with myself.”

He refrained from any trash talk about Molina, saying that Molina wasn’t talking trash either.

“I just want him to be on his A-game, man, because this is not only just a fight for me, this is one of the biggest fights in the world,” Broner said. “They’re looking at me to take over the game after my big brother’s [Floyd Mayweather Jr., figuratively speaking] done with boxing, and coming off a loss, they want to see what I come back and do.

“And they can’t wait to see me on TV again. I know there’s a lot of people that dislike the things that I do, but there’s a lot of people that love the things I do, and they want to see Adrien Broner back on top. I will not disappoint anybody who loves to see me lose or who loves to see me win, because I’m going to put on a show.”

No need to be "humble". You win some....you lose some:manny:

As long as he dedicates himself to his craft and continues working on being the best fighter he can be, he's good.

ADRIEN BRONER DISCUSSES CARLOS MOLINA, MOVE TO 140, AND FIGHTING ON MAYWEATHER'S UNDERCARD
By Ben Thompson | April 01, 2014
adrienbroner5.jpg

"Hey, at the end of the day, you know, I'm still getting a helluva check. So I don't care if it's on the undercard, on the overcard, on the sidecard; as long as my money's right," stated former welterweight champion Adrien Broner, who spoke about his upcoming May 3 clash with jr. welterweight contender Carlos Molina on the undercard of Mayweather vs. Maidana. Check out what else he had to say!

On Carlos Molina...

I'm happy Carlos Molina, he took this fight. He might be looking to give me another L, but that's every fighter that comes into the ring.

He's a helluva fighter, you know. Like I said, I don't disrespect no boxer, man. It takes a lot to get inside the square circle. I don't take any boxer lightly and, you know, I just want to be on this A game May 3rd.

A lot of people looking for me to just go in here and walk over this guy, but at the end of the day, they're forgetting that he's not just somebody to walk over, you know. He's a top class fighter and I can go in there and make the best fighter look like the worst fighter when I'm on my A game. After May 3rd, I just hope I don't get a lot of criticism for who I'm fighting and the way I make it look.

On his loss to Marcos Maidana...

I mean, with the pedestal that they put me on, anybody taking a loss that I did, it would probably break them, but coming from where I come from, you know, I'm strong, you know. I'm strong mentally and physically, so I'm okay. I'm perfectly fine with myself.

On fighting at 140...

We gonna do what's best for Adrien Broner's career at that time. This is my first fight, well, not my first fight, but my first world-wide on television fight at 140 pounds, so we're at 140 right now and we're going to see where we go from here.

It's really not a big change, like, for me. I'm naturally a lightweight. I just can fight in the upper weight class. I got the skills to do it. And, you know, making 140 is not a problem and being mentally sound is not a problem. I'm focused enough to stay in the gym; I got a great support system. I'm okay.

I can hit regardless. It doesn't matter what weight I fight; I can still hit, you know. So, you know, I will showcase my talents, my speed, and my power May 3rd and I'll let you decide.

On fighting on Floyd Mayweather's undercard...

At the end of the day, I'm gonna do whatever makes Adrien Broner happy. Of course I listen to my Big Brother a lot. We talk every day and, you know, he tells me things that's not on the internet or not on the social websites. Me and him have a great understanding and I'm doing great.

Closing thoughts...

I'm really not here to talk trash 'cause he don't talk trash, so I can't talk trash to nobody that don't talk trash to me, you know. Like I said before, I just want him to be on his A game, man, 'cause this is not only just a fight for me. This is one of the biggest fights in the world, like, because literally, they're looking at me to take over the game after my Big Brother is done with boxing, and coming off a loss, they want to see what I come back and do, and they can't wait to see me on TV again. So, you know, I know it's a lot of people that dislike the things that I do, but it's a lot of people that love the things that I do and they want to see Adrien Broner back on top. And I will not disappoint anybody who loves to see me lose or who loves to see me win, because at the end of the day, I'ma put on a show.

PAULIE MALIGNAGGI DISCUSSES MAYWEATHER VS. MAIDANA: "MARCOS HAS A CHANCE TO BE COMPETITIVE"
By Ben Thompson | April 02, 2014
pauliemalignaggi5.jpg

"I think Marcos has a chance to be competitive. I think Marcos is underrated in some ways. I think he's not just a brawler; he's a guy with a pretty good jab and stuff like that, but I don't know balance-wise he's the same way," stated former welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi, who shared his thoughts on the eagerly-anticipated May 3 showdown between undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd "Money" Mayweather and WBA welterweight champion Marcos Maidana. According to Malignaggi, although Maidana may not be the most fundamentally sound fighter, his unorthodox style and his punching power may be enough for his trainer, Robert Garcia, to come up with an effective game plan that could potentially give Mayweather some problems.

"I'll give you an example. Like Cotto has a heavy, good jab and Cotto was able to trouble Floyd with that good jab. He's a heavy puncher, but there was also a heavy jab. I think Marcos has a heavy jab, but I don't know if he has the fundamentals that Miguel Cotto has. I think Cotto was able to give Floyd some trouble because the fundamentals behind the physical kind of fight that he fights were pretty strong. He has strong fundamentals. Marcos, I'm not going to say it's a weakness that he doesn't have great fundamentals. That might be his strength in a way because his ability to be unorthodox, you know, a lot of times makes him land punches that you don't expect him to land," Malignaggi explained during a recent conversation with FightHype.com. "But this is Floyd Mayweather now and punches you don't expect to land, they usually don't land on a guy like that. So it's a tough situation. It's a guy with two-handed power; Marcos can knock you out with either hand. He goes to the body. He does use the jab pretty effectively more now than he did before; he's kind of mixed it into his own style. He's not going to have a jab like mine, but he mixes a heavy jab into his own style. There's things to work with. It's up to him and his trainer, Rob Garcia, to put a package together that may trouble Floyd. There's things he has to work with, but it's not an easy task for sure."

RUSLAN PROVODNIKOV: "NOBODY REALLY WANTS TO FIGHT ME...I'M READY TO FIGHT ANYBODY"
By Michelle Rosado | April 02, 2014
ruslanprovodnikov.jpg

MR: Ruslan, you have become a fan-favorite and everyone is anticipating your ring return in June, but you can't seem to lock down a dance partner. Why has it been so hard to secure a fight?

RP: My manager and promoter told me that nobody really wants to fight me.

MR: Brandon Rios has been extremely vocal about wanting to fight you next. He is adamant that he can make 140? Do you have concerns about him making weight and why?

RP: No, I don't have any concerns. I am ready to fight him any time. For me, he is actually the best opponent out there right now. His promoter and manager are the ones that don't want him to fight me. Whether it's the weight issue or some other reasons, I'm not sure. It's not my fault that the fight is not happening. I'm ready to fight anybody.

MR: What will it take for a fight to happen between you and Brandon Rios? It seems that the fans want it and I would assume that HBO would approve it, unlike Antonio DeMarco.

PR: His promoter and manager need to decide to allow for him to take this fight. They have not come forward even one step on wanting to make the fight, according to my team, and the articles that Bob Arum put in the press about him worrying that Brandon will not make weight.

MR: Hank Lundy has been very vocal that he is up for the challenge as well. Would you consider fighting Hank now that talks of fighting DeMarco have seemed to cease?

RP: Yes, sure. I'm not against fighting him. I would fight Hank Lundy any time.

MR: Maurico Herrera recently gave Danny Garcia a tough fight. Would you like to avenge that loss with Herrera one day?

RP: Anytime. I am ready to fight Herrera.

MR: Who do you think wins between Pacquaio-Bradley? Do you see yourself fighting the winner?

RP: I think it will be a close fight again, but I will be rooting for my friend Manny Pacquaio. He needs to prove to everybody that he won the fight from the first time. I am looking forward to fighting Timothy Bradley in a rematch. My team has assured me that I will be in the mix with one of these fighters in the fall and this gives me a lot of motivation.

Ruslan not getting any decent fights is a fukking crime. He is a high action fighter so you'd think a channel that has been putting out so much garbage lately like HBO would be forcing Arum's hand to get this guy fighting regularly.

the thing though is ruslan isn't signed to arum or hbo...arum has one more option on his next fight and he gets to be independent.
